Marcus Cutler POV:
I sat on the edge of Julia’s sofa, keeping my eyes firmly looked at the wall across from me. Julia was still asleep behind me, and it was my hope that she would stay asleep until I could figure out what the hell I had done.
Seriously, what the hell was this!?
I, a member of the Red Chapter and a vampire hunter, had just spent the night with a vampire.
I’m dead.
There’s no other way to put it. No sugar-coating it. I’m dead.
My thoughts were interrupted by a movement of the cushion beneath me. A pair of arms wrapped around me, and I felt Julia lean against my back. Her soft lips pressed against the bite mark she had made on my neck, then traveled upwards and kissed my ear.
“Good morning, Marcus,” she whispered softly.
“Julia,” I greeted as calmly as I could.
Her hold on me tightened slightly, and she rested her chin on my shoulder. “What’s that tone for?” she asked. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”
I didn’t respond, not knowing the answer to her question.
