Marcus Cutler POV:
I woke up to find sunlight streaming through me window. I had to frown at that. It wasn’t like me to sleep so late. Looking around the room, I couldn’t see Julia anywhere, though that made sense considering how we had left things last night.
It was probably a good thing she was gone. Now I could work without distractions.
So, why didn’t I feel better?
I tried to push those thoughts out of my head. Getting out of bed, I took a quick shower, got dressed, and headed out. I stopped at the coffee shop again, getting another lemon-poppy seed muffin with my coffee.
Thanks to Julia’s imprint insisting on messing with me the first time, I had only been able to check out the first house on my list of three of potential lairs for her. Once I was finished with my breakfast, I headed for the second house.
