Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Love, Blood, and Fangs

Marcus Cutler POV:

Whatever Julia had bitten me with to let me see her other imprints had worn off shortly after the lost puppy was reunited with its owner. We were at the Hunting Ground now, sitting at the same table where we had first met.

Julia raised a glass of red wine to her lips, keeping eye contact with me as she took a sip. “Well, Marcus,” she began, “have I managed to convince you? Or am I still a bloodthirsty monster?”

I lowered my gaze to look down into my beer mug. “I don’t know,” I replied honestly. I looked up at her again. “Obviously you’re still bloodthirsty. There’s still that matter that you drank my blood when we first met,” I reminded her.

“Well, you tried to murder me,” Julia countered. “I felt that was very rude of you.”

For some reason I wanted to smile at that, but I restrained myself. It didn’t stop Julia from smiling, though.

After a moment, Julia’s smile faded. “But am I still something that needs to be destroyed, Marcus?” she asked me.
