Marcus Cutler POV:

I waited until Julia had driven away before I went inside my room. As I stepped through the door, I found my imprint of Julia sitting on my bed waiting for me.

I should have felt angry seeing her there after I had been promised that she would leave me alone, but for some reason I didn’t feel like being angry.

“I thought you said you would leave me alone,” I reminded Julia as I walked over to her.

Julia smiled up at me. “I just wanted to see if you would change your mind,” she replied. “The real me really did a number on you, didn’t she?”

“Why are you asking me?” I asked back. “You know what happened. You were there.”

Julia’s smile grew. “I was,” she agreed before she disappeared.

With Julia gone, I lay down on the bed. The evening had been … informative, and I had a lot to consider now.
