Weston hadn't planned on things going like this. It wasn't time to reveal parts of him that he had been hiding. But things had changed, and he couldn't let her think he was merely a human any longer.

She would probably be mad. Actually, mad wasn't the word. She would be livid. Maybe even hate him, but it was a risk he would have to take because this was serious. She needed him and he needed to be there for her.

He braced his feet on the wooden porch, pushing with all his might as he began to change into a wolf. Within seconds he was on all fours, heavily breathing, jaw clenched, and staring at the face of the woman he loved.

She had gone pale. She slumped to the floor in one quick motion. He quickly changed back and covered his half-naked body with the remainder of his clothes before scooping her up.

"I don't understand. You are human. What's going on?"
