Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Behind Closed Doors

Felicity

Felicity walked back to her office to answer the phone call that had been put on hold. She was so lost in her thoughts that she almost didn't realize Weston was in her office, propped against her desk, holding a single red rose.

"What are you doing in here?" she asked.

He said nothing.

He placed the rose on the desk and then reached behind her head, grabbed her neck, and pulled her mouth into his. She knew it was wrong on so many levels, but her body and soul didn't care. Not at that moment. She let him in. All the way.

He turned her around and reached in front of her uniform and undid her pants. He slid them around her hips, and they hit the floor in a small thud. He reached inside her panties, and he could tell she wanted him, deeply.

He slid those down too. She succumbed to him. She gave in to the strength of his powers over her. The very ones she saw in his eyes the moment he walked into that station.

But wait. There was something more. She could feel it, sense it with every single thrust as he pleasured her. But she couldn't figure out what it was.

He was human. He wasn't like her. She had to find out why her father hand picked him to join her station. Her father was very picky about the fire fighters that he chose to work under her command. There was definitely something about him. She could sense it and her father must have seen it.

No, she couldn’t think about her father right now. No, right now she just wanted to feel nothing but good and he was making her feel so, so good.

Her entire body trembled as he continued. They both finished at the same time, and he must have been able to tell she was about to make a noise she wouldn't want the entire station to hear because he cupped her watering mouth with his hand and she bit down, lightly, on his finger.

They sat still in the moment. She was still draped over the desk, and he was still inside her. Their hearts were beating so loudly that they could hear one another's. Their breathing was labored but began to slow.

He pulled her back up to him and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck. She inhaled and exhaled quite deeply, taking the entire moment in.

And for the first time since she stepped into her office, they spoke.

"Are you okay?" he asked as she turned to face him.

"I am."

He cupped her face with his hands and kissed her hard. The insertion of his tongue inside her mouth made her body ache for more. He opened a door she had nailed shut.

But what was she doing? She knew she couldn't let this happen again.

"You should probably go," she said as she slid her pants back up over her hips and straightened up her uniform.

"I know. I don't want to, but I know."

During the shaking of her desk, the flower had gotten knocked to the floor. He walked around her desk to the other side to pick it up. As he did, he looked up at the picture frame and saw Julian with his arms around her in the photo.

"Who is this?" he asked, picking up the frame.

She quickly grabbed it from his grasp and placed it face down on the desk.

"No one."

"Are you with someone?" he asked.

"No, I am not. It's no one, like I said."

Her tone changed now to one of frustration. He took care of her needs but now she just wanted him to go. She was beginning to have regrets.

"Okay. Gotcha. I'm going to go."

He zipped up his pants and tucked in his shirt. He leaned over to kiss her, but she turned away. He said no more words. He quietly left her office, and her face found her hands and she bawled for reasons she couldn't explain. Guilt took over, hard.

What had she done? Broken so many rules. So many. She had to fix this. She had to make Weston know that this can never happen again, ever. That was a one-time deal, and it was never to be mentioned again to her or anyone. She had to tell him. She had to make him understand. If word got out, not only would both of them possibly lose their jobs, but he could be in danger. She was part of a world he couldn't understand, and she couldn't begin to explain. She barely knew him, but she cared about him enough to make sure he remained safe. Even if it meant she had to hide every emotion and become something he never saw coming.

She needed to clean up the mess she had made and fast.

But as she stood there, her insides throbbed, and she could still feel his kiss lingering on her mouth and somehow, she felt so alive. More alive than she had in so long.

She wished she hadn't given in because now the desire for him was going to be stronger than ever and she would have to fight it daily because it wasn't going away anytime soon.

She glanced around her office to make sure everything was back in order. She looked at her desk and stared at the rose.

It was perfect. She picked it up and drew in her breath. The strong floral smell filled her nose. She held her face there for a moment amongst the soft petals. Then before she left her office, she tossed the rose into the trash. No evidence left behind.

She walked to the door and turned to look back at the desk once more. She touched her lips and then locked her feelings deep inside where no one would ever find them again. She stepped back out into reality.

But reality was, she was falling for him. Falling for the second time in her life and the crew or her pack finding out wasn't her biggest fear.

No. It was of losing him just as she had Julian, and she didn't think that was something she could live through twice.
