Chapter 89: Rejection

"W-what did you just say to me?" Dietrich asks with wide eyes and his mouth agape.

"I said, let's be a couple." Emilia says deadpan.

Dietrich blinks several times without speaking, rubbing his eyes to see if he's imagining things. He takes a cautious step toward Emilia and pokes her face. 

"Alright, I guess you don't want to then." Emilia says with a stony face as she moves to turn away from him.

"Are you sure that you're really Emilia?? The Emilia that I know wouldn't offer something like this, especially not to me. She would say something about how we have more important things to focus on than our relationship…" Dietrich says as he gently grabs her wrist.

"Dietrich, do you want to or not?" Emilia asks while rolling her eyes.

"Uhh…Well wait… Are you only offering this because you feel like you have to?" Dietrich asks her cautiously.
