Emilia gulps, this position was rather compromising. Dietrich was so heated by the argument that he didn't notice how close their bodies were. The heat radiating off of Dietrich's body and the overwhelming pull of the bond was making Emilia's head feel hazy. The allure of her mate being in such close proximity and the primal instincts threatening to take over has put her into a trance like state as her breath hitches and she stares into Dietrich's magnificent golden eyes.
Dietrich becomes confused by Emilia's expression, he was expecting fear or anger from her. Why were her eyes swirling with some sort of internal conflict? He tilts his head and shifts his body to see if he was missing something. That's when it all came together. That movement, though slight, was enough to draw the line. Emilia squeaked nervously and Dietrich quickly jumped away from her with wide eyes and shock written all over his face.
Before either could utter a single word, Paul entered the tent. He took one look at their flushed faces and then backed out of the tent. "My bad, I'll come back later." He said before rushing out. Emilia and Dietrich could hear his loud whispering from inside the tent. "Oh my goddess, Selene! I just went into the tent to give Dietrich the scout's report and you won't believe what I caught them doing! They were doing the nasty!!! Well they weren't actually doing it. But they were obviously something scandalous!" Dietrich storms out of the tent and stops Paul from saying any more.
"You really have a death wish, don't you." Dietrich growls into Paul's face. "Uh, well not really, Boss. I'd actually prefer to live please and thank you." He says while gulping. Paul looks to Selene for help but she turns away from him. Whatever Dietrich decides to do to Paul right now, everyone is in agreement that he deserves it. Dietrich laughs, "You're running out of chances. Now go run two hundred laps around the camp." Paul nods and rushes off to his punishment. Even Emilia could tell that the punishment could have easily been much worse, despite remaining in the tent.
"Emilia, uh. I'm going to go hunt for a bit, I'll be back." Dietrich starts but Emilia cuts him off. "Actually, you still need to rest so I'm going to go ahead and take Selene out to hunt with me. See you later." She says in a rushed voice as she pulls Selene out of the clearing. Dietrich returns to his tent and replays the scene in his head. 'On second thought, wasn't that a good reaction to get from her? Wait… or was it bad? Damn, I guess I'll have to ask that lunatic for advice when he's done running.' Dietrich thinks to himself.
Emilia and Selene make it a few feet into the forest, just enough to be out of earshot. Selene uses the chance to pry. "So? Wanna talk about it?" She asks. Emilia tilts her head. "You know, the thing that Paul walked in on… Come on, you can tell me! I promise not to tell anyone." She presses. Emilia sighs, "nothing happened. We just got into a fight. That's all." Selene gives her a disbelieving look, "oh come on. You don't honestly expect me to believe that, right?"
"Nothing happened though. We argued, he pinned me, I got a little… ahem. But nothing happened." Emilia says before shifting and rushing forward. Selene laughs, "Ha! So something DID happen!" And then she shifts and follows Emilia's black wolf while nudging her playfully.
The two she-wolves run around for a while before slowing down to scan the area for prey. Selene smells a herd of white-tail deer nearby and signals for Emilia to follow her. They walk carefully through the dense forest until they spot their prey grazing in a large clearing. Emilia inwardly groans when she notices all the deer are towards the center. The chances of getting close enough to strike without being detected were slim.
Selene nudges Emilia and points with her nose. Emilia follows her line of sight, there she sees an extra large buck grazing on his own near the outskirts of the clearing. It was perfect, even if they couldn't get more than one deer, this buck would be enough to make up for it.
Emilia lets Selene take the lead since she has more experience. Selene crouches low to the ground, making her body blend with her surroundings. Emilia copies the movement but her fur is too dark to blend properly. She shrugs it off and sneaks up alongside the buck while Selene approaches from the opposite end. The two females scoot nearer, keeping an eye on the rest of the herd as well. In order for this to work, Emilia needs to get a minimum of ten feet from the buck's front while Selene sneaks behind and blocks its escape route. It was tedious work to get the right positioning but the potential reward is worth it.
Selene gives the signal and Emilia dashes forward, spooking the deer right into the other wolf's grasp. The she-wolves work together splendidly as Emilia launches herself onto the back of the deer and Selene remains on the ground, nipping at its legs so that it is unable to get proper footing. Emilia snaps her fangs down on the deer's carotid artery and pulls as hard as she can until the buck falls to the ground. Selene moves in and bites into the other carotid artery and they wait until the deer ceases its movements.
Feeling victorious and proud, they carry the buck back to the camp together and throw it into the middle, showing off its large size to the other wolves. Emilia is the first to shift back as she runs into Dietrich's tent to tell him about her success, temporarily forgetting about the events that had occurred prior to her hunt.
Emilia stops in her tracks when she hears the voice of another female speaking to Dietrich. She walks in slowly in case he is in an important meeting. Nothing could have prepared Emilia for what she was about to witness. There, sat a half-naked Dietrich and an unknown woman kneeling in front of him with her breasts uncovered. The scent of lust smacked Emilia in her face as she looked at her mate and the woman with disgust and anger. "So much for waiting for your mate I suppose." She hisses, startling Dietrich and his companion.
Dietrich looks at Emilia then at himself and the woman before him and back at Emilia. "W-wait! This isn't what it looks like!" He says with fear evident in his voice. "Don't lie to her, Diet. She wouldn't give it up for you so I came to help you release your pent up energy." The woman says with a smirk. "Oh wow, she even calls you by your nickname. Should I be surprised though?" Emilia says, her expression cold. "Listen Emilia! It's not like that. And Lila, stop saying shit that's misleading!" Dietrich growls. The woman, Lila, shrugs and pulls her clothes back on. "You'll thank me for this. Trust me." She whispers so only Dietrich can hear and then exits the tent.
"Emilia, you have to believe me. Nothing was going on. She came in and we were talking and then all of a sudden she removed her top right as you were walking in." He insists. Emilia lifts an eyebrow. "And let me guess, your clothes just flew off on their own?" She scoffs. Dietrich becomes speechless for a moment. "Emilia, nothing happened. I'm not even remotely attracted to Lila, she's just a childhood friend." He says confidently, thinking his words will fix everything. Emilia laughs, "And what makes you think I believe that?! For all I know you're just lying to save your skin right now!"
Dietrich's overwhelming frustration at her accusations finally explodes. "Because this is what it looks like when I'm attracted to someone!" He shouts before pushing Emilia's back against the tent's wall and kissing her roughly. He doesn't release Emilia's lips as he presses himself against her body, making her feel his growing bulge against her thighs. Emilia freezes up with an internal conflict, should she give into her ever-growing desires or push him away?
Before she has a chance to make a decision, Paul once again walks inside the tent to speak to Dietrich. He looks between Dietrich and Emilia, his face turning bright red as he smirks. "Still going to say I'm misunderstanding the situation?" He says cockily before running out of the tent.
Dietrich backs away from Emilia awkwardly. "Uh, I'm… um… sorry about that… " He says, keeping his eyes towards the ground. "Umm" Is all she can say in response. They stand there awkwardly for another five minutes without a single word being exchanged. "I'm going to go now… you should uh, be careful with that arm." She says before rushing out of the tent.
