Chapter 9: Rina's view
Rina's view

It was a day like every other, as I could hear something from some distance. I was still sleepy, so I wasn't sure if it wasn't just a dream, but as I saw where I was, I knew it wasn't.
I was still in this shabby place. In an alley, which was abandoned for quite some time, at least for normal people, but I was different, because I was poor. I had to live in a place like this.
These memories hurt, but I still came out of my thoughts as I could hear something again. It was a screech of something. I knew what it was, it was my only friend, a little black cat I named Jacky. It protected my life before and since then, I tried to help that kitten too, but I didn't have much money, so I couldn't do much to help.
But right now, I could hear it screech, this means something must have happened to him, and as didn't live any more cats near here, it must really be Jacky. He must be quite near here as I could hear him so load. So I ran as fast I could to were I could hear the pained screeches from. But when I arrived, Jacky was already dead, and in front of him were five people. I didn't know who they were as I could only see a little bit in this dark alley, but they gave me a bad vibe.
As these people saw me, I could hear, how one of them said: ,,And here, we have another pest." I knew they wanted to attack me, the moment I heard this. But I was helpless, I was just some lowly beggar that couldn't even defend herself, how could I ever even dream of having been able to help Jacky. I could only cry as loud as possible in the hopes of someone helping me, or alarming the police or something, at least.
I had hope, as this alley was quite near a big street with many civilians on it. I was crying and crying, and only now I could see that these five people already vanished, to avoid having troubles. I didn't know why people would even come here just to kill a cat, but this wasn't important right now. I went to the cat as fast as I could, in hopes of it still living, but it was already completely dead. I couldn't do anything anymore.
This was what I thought, before I could hear something. I could hear, how someone spoke to me. I thought it was god, but it didn't take long before I lost my hope again. It was a human being that spoke to me, it seems. That human being said it would give me power, the power to revive my cat. It again was hope for me, as I accepted his offer to entertain him a little bit with my life on the line, for exactly this power.
After we finished talking he turned around and went away, leaving me alone. As suddenly there was a green light around me and I could feel, how I became more powerful. In front of me was a window to be seen, saying that I awakened and this are my attributes...
