Chapter 489: The Communiqué 4

Carol briefly explained what had happened a moment ago, and Airon coldly looked at the few people on the ground without saying anything at first.

The few individuals froze under his gaze, feeling as if a fierce beast was staring at them. Soon, their faces turned pale, and drops of sweat appeared on their foreheads.

"I want you to understand that the central base has much stricter and more detailed rules than any other part of the organization! Since you are in possibly the safest place in the world and will enjoy the comfort of this place, you must abide by the rules and regulations here."

Airon paced back and forth and pointed, saying, "There should be no fights or hurting others due to avoidable actions like what just happened. No one will die because of this mistake. We are not such animals in this place. But you will learn the lesson of your actions as it is your first offense, so you will only eat rice."

At this point, many people had gathered to find out what was happening. After all, such things were not common occurrences.

"We can avoid such things in the future. You are free to do as you please, but you must understand that if we don't maintain discipline to regain the humanity we have lost, we won't get very far!"

No one had the courage to respond, and everyone nodded with sad and remorseful expressions. Some were angry at the harsh words that circulated, but in the end, they did not complain. Seeing that they were genuinely scared, Airon didn't continue to hold onto them. Instead, he turned around and looked at the rest of the crowd.

"What I just said applies to all of you. As long as you follow the rules and do what needs to be done in this place, you will rediscover the humanity you thought was lost. But anyone who does something unrelated to us, the laboratory is short of test subjects, and I believe you all understand what I mean."

Although there were a little over half of the group that had arrived today, all of them could feel the leadership aura emitted by the man in front of them, and the scene became extremely silent.

But in the next second, Airon's serious expression softened, and a smile appeared, making the people feel the fear diminishing.

"Of course, you don't have to be afraid. We don't have as many rules here as an army; this is a growing city, not a military base. You just need to be a little more careful. Alright, Carol, take everyone for their meal."

At the same time, Airon glanced at Captain Troy and nodded in response. Knowing he had the green light to act, Troy approached the men who were getting up from the ground and pointed to the nearby wall. "Come with me, quickly!"

Some people signaled to others with their eyes not to get nervous and then walked towards where they were indicated.

"Ten blows whit so they can eat!"

After saying that, Airon walked towards the interior of the cafeteria. Troy, looking at the other soldiers, said, "What a shame, I thought the commander would say fifty... Well, drop your pants."

"What?"

...

Airon soon entered the interior and approached Adam, who was with his daughter. He said, "You can join me for a meal. I need to discuss some things with you."

"Glenn, bring food for these people and add it to ours."

"Oh, alright."

As Glenn left, Airon was the first to look at Carlos.

"You were a police officer before, and I paid a lot of attention to you along the way. I believe you are a reliable person, and you should have noticed that there are many people in the central base. You should have seen those soldiers in uniforms similar to ours."

"Those who were walking around the base?" Adam asked uncertainly.

Indeed, I have an opening for the position of police captain in the central base. Your work as an undercover agent in one of the enemy bases was remarkable, so I want you to be the captain of this place.

"I have good men, I can't deny that. However, I need those men for much more complex tasks, such as leading new bases that are being established. So, you are a perfect candidate for that position. What do you think?"

"Do you think I am capable enough to take on such an important position?"

"Of course, you won't have to handle all that work yourself... I will assign trained soldiers as your assistants. Don't worry, these are well-trained soldiers, and they all receive and follow orders to the letter."

"I hope you can use your years of police experience to formulate a set of public order regulations. We will discuss them in the administrative meeting of the central base."

Looking at the calm man in front of him with great interest, Airon was not worried about the other party's rejection, but Adam had no reason to reject, right?

Indeed, Adam nodded after a few breaths and extended his hand to shake it solemnly.

"Thank you for your trust, Commander. I believe I will do my best to perform this job well."

"Very well."

At this moment, Glenn had already approached with two large lunch boxes. Airon looked at Arturo, who was silent on the other side, and then at Adam. The latter took the lunchbox and left.

"I'll leave you alone. Thank you for the meal."

"No, it's our meal. You are now part of the S.C.T., right?"

"Of course, this is still quite new to me..."

As Adam left, Cesar, who was sitting across from him, finally moved, took a spoon, and scooped a spoonful of food into his mouth.

"Well, you have good food."

"Thank you."

"I understand what you mean by bringing me here and setting me free. As for my response, you should also know, right?"

Airon was not puzzled by Cesar's words as if pretending to be ignorant but rather smiled and nodded.

"Tell me about your conditions, and then we'll see."

"No, I don't have any conditions. I can tell you all the information I know."

"Sure, I'm afraid, but I don't think you're the kind of person who kills for any reason. My role is not just to provide you with dispensable information, right? You must already understand that my decision to leave the organization is not easy. It means I have chosen an extremely powerful enemy, but this is good for you. Once the organization finds out I'm dead, it means I should never appear in their field of vision. You need to know that my organization is a huge force with bases in several cities, and if such an organization labels me as a deserter, my fate will definitely be hundreds of times worse than being burned alive."

Airon looked directly into the other person's eyes, and all he could see was concern and sincerity. He knew Cesar wasn't trustworthy, but he didn't have much time before aligning himself with the enemy.

"Alright, I will trust you for now, but you must take practical measures to fulfill your promise."

In this way, the two sat in the cafeteria for a full two hours, and it wasn't until the outside sky darkened that Airon returned satisfied to his room.

His room was no longer as cramped as before. After the central zone entered the renovation plans, some unused areas were expanded, so now Airon was in a much larger room.

Walking straight to the office, he casually picked up a proposal from the desk, and Airon sank into deep thought.

The Commonwealth must be included in their plans as soon as possible, as it would provide them with assured stability against their enemy. Furthermore, the production of fuel for tanks and helicopters had begun, which greatly benefited the organization as a whole.

As for taking Florida, that task would be left to Abraham.

It seems there are still many things left undone. Now that Airon and his organization have encountered CRM, it seems they really need to develop themselves as soon as possible."

Gradually, Airon fell into deep contemplation as he looked at a tactical map in front of him.
