Chapter 11: Chapter 11 (The proposal)
8:35 pm.
Female Dormitory
Alexandra stretched her hand as she came out of the shower, wearing panties and a round-neck shirt, her wet blonde hair dripping down her shirt made it known that she was in the shower.
She ignored Eun Kyung who was on a video call with her boyfriend.
Alexandra walked to her bed and exhaled deeply, ready to go to bed.
She looked up at Eun Kyung laughing and whispering to Lee min.
"I honestly love my single life until I met you, Eun Kyung... now I want to know how it feels to be in love... you are a bad influence", Alexandra said before hearing a beep on her phone.
Eun Kyung heard her roommate, she shook her head and turned her face to Alexandra, "you are so free to have a boyfriend, you are the one acting all MOMMY'S GIRL", she answered back.
She saw Alexandra's shocked expression as she stared down at her phone, "what is it?", Eun Kyung asked, her attention shifting from Lee Min.
Alexandra bite her upper lips as she contemplated what to do while still staring at his message.
Ha Joon has asked to meet up with her right away, at the first place they met.
The message seems urgent. He was the last person she was expecting a message from, she never thought he would save her number or even text her.
"Alex?"
Alexandra finally looked at her roommate, "Huh!", she said staring at Eun Kyung.
"You have been staring at your phone, did someone send you a nude or something....", Eun Kyung asked curiously. She immediately gasped out, "IS IT A NUDE!", she asked again and immediately dropped her phone, dashing towards Alexandra to take a look.
Alexandra flew up and hide her phone from Eun Kyung.
"Lee Min is hanging on for you", Alexandra quickly said.
"Yes she is right babe, you are leaving me hanging".
Eun Kyung looked back at her phone and could see Lee Min's head on her screen, she laughs in defeat and turned to Alexandra.
"Okay okay....", she said and moved closer to Alexandra who was still hiding the phone behind her, "I will still see the nude you are hiding", she whispered and gave Alexandra a half smile before hurrying back to her phone.
Without hesitation, Alexandra hurried to her closet and pulled out her shorts, she rolled her hair into a messy bun and put on her dirty crocs.
"I will be right back", she said and hurried out before Eun Kyung could respond.
"Why is he calling me out? Did he want to apologize for what he did?.... is he lonely and needed to talk?", she mumbled as she hurried to the location he had asked to meet.
The more she got closer the more nervous she got, wondering what the reason for the meeting up could be.
The questions popping up in her mind were driving her crazy.
Alexandra got to the big tree she had saved the bird some weeks ago.
She looked around but no one was not there, she looked up his window and it was locked.
"What? I thought he said? is he....."
"Hey... you are late".
The voice behind her made her flinch and gasped at the same time.
She thought he has not arrived or for some reason thought he was playing games with her but there he was standing in front of her.
Their matching shirt color was the first thing they both noticed.
He wore a short and put on sneakers making Alexandra wonder if he was coming from an outing or if he just decided to look good because he was coming out to see her.
His eyes went up to her wet hair.
“Her hair has always been this pretty?” he thought and immediately look away to avoid getting caught admiring her blonde hair which appeared even prettier being wet.
Alexandra ignored the matching shirt after she realized he was not paying too much attention to it either.
She avoided eye contact and looked around nervously, waiting for him to speak but he didn't, she got even more nervous and began to admire the surrounding with a closed-mouth smile.
"I... I am sorry, I mean for....", he paused after seeing her eyes on him, getting even more awkward for both of them.
Alexandra scoffed and shook her head in disbelief, "I never imagined you saying sorry sincerely but I will take it... I...", she said and paused her lips still avoiding fixed eye contact.
"Is that why you called me out? you could have texted that to me... since you have my number".
Ha Joon stared at her and then looked away, he sucked in his lips as he gathered the courage to tell her what the actual meeting was.
Alexandra who had noticed his face took a step backward, "wait a minute!....", she said and looked around, realizing no one was around but them, she clenched her fist at him "Are you a.....is that why you.....?”
Ha Joon looked down at her fist and how agitated she looked, he stared at Alexandra confusedly.
"What? What are you thinking?.. Are you thinking I....", he said and unable to control his laughter, he burst out.
Alexandra gradually lowered her arm as she watched him laugh. The first time she saw him laugh was by the window and it was not clear because it was dark, Now it is.
After Seoul, his laugh was the second most beautiful thing she have seen since she has gotten to Korea.
Thank God for active eyes that can see something this perfect, like his laugh and his teeth which do not appear too much while talking, but had finally shown as he laughed heartily.
He slowly stopped and folded his arms, "Do you think I will call you outside just to.... oh come on, okay for a start.... tell me your name... I heard Eun Kyung call you....", he said and squinted his eyes as he tried remembering, "lex? Allison? Angelina?... Annabelle?".
Alexandra scoffed as her lips curved into a smile, "Alexandra", she replied to avoid being called so many names.
"Ah that is true... I remember now”. he said and released his folded arms, fixing his eyes on her.
“Okay... I noticed you were busy before coming down here", he said thinking about her wet hair, "I apologize for that, and I am sorry for making you feel that way when I pulled you out earlier today, I was thinking about myself", he added.
Alexandra smiled blushingly as he got ten times more attractive while apologizing, his politeness made all the remaining anger in her disappear.
She put back some of her hair to the back of her ear.
"No, it is... it is fine", she smiled rapidly.
"Okay, so I will go straight to the point... I thought about everything that has been happening, you also saw what happened when those girls see me, they all screamed and you don't know this but my room is always filled with different gifts, I am sure my roommate is tired of eating chocolates from different girls", he said.
“Even though he does not complain”, he muttered to himself.
Ha Joon looked up and saw her confused eyes.
"So when I did what I did, which was bad and thoughtless..... it worked, they all kept quiet right? And...", he looked away and exhaled deeply as he hesitated to continue.
He thought of how embarrassed he felt when different girls screamed while he walked by and how he get a lot of attention from them, every day.
Ha Joon made up his mind and shook his head as he turned to Alexandra who was still trying to understand his point.
The sound of the birds finally getting back from flying all day was heard from the tree, he stared at her blue eyes and without knowing how she would react or feel about it he decided to continue.
"I have a proposal for you", he said and saw Alexandra's eyes brighten, "I know we really don't know much about each other but I know you are Alexandra, and you know I am Ha Joon and judging by your mean yet sweet personality towards me I know you are not like those girls and I know you know Eun Kyung as well who happens to be my close friend, maybe used to but that is not my point”.
"So.... what is your point", Alexandra softly asked as she had a bit of an idea of what he was about to say.
He sighed deeply and stared at her for a short while.
"I w... I want you to be my girlfriend.... for now, please".
