Chapter 210: Chapter 200 milestone

And so it has come to pass; the chapter count has surpassed 200. This is yet another big milestone and another time that I, the author, will sit down and share my thoughts with those who are interested.

Firstly as I'm sure you have noticed, I just had a few days where I didn't upload; this was due to me moving, and holy hell, that was an annoying situation; moving sucks, but thankfully it is mostly over, so I should be able to get back to writing once again.

Now, onto the story!

So with another 100 chapters down, what have I realized about this project, firstly, that it is a really damn ambitious one. And equally chaotic.

This project was made with chaos in mind. I wanted to capture the chaos that would come with SCP objects appearing and the Foundation going around capturing them all once again while also slowly involving people from Marvel in the story.

This is enormously ambitious; to give enough room for each object for the many, many people involved with the Foundation and those of the Marvel universe isn't easy at all. This, once again, means I went through 100 chapters and, timewise, didn't get very far at all.

I had originally thought this work would be about 400 chapters long, but no way I will be able to finish it in another 200, so it will likely end up being longer.

I don't really regret biting off such a big bite with this project. I do think it's working out alright, but if I were to start now, I wouldn't go with random SCP objects; I would have carefully woven the overall plot together around just some handpicked objects.

After all, it's not easy to properly structure the story when a sudden SCP can turn everything on its head. Some objects don't need much attention, but others are a top priority and wouldn't allow anything else to happen, throwing any plot ideas out the window.

Now, that isn't to say I don't know where I'm going with the story, only that I will be getting there way later than I had thought at first.

Another thing I want to say about time is that I have long disliked the idea of time skips and dislike things taking an unreasonable amount of time. For example, in the MCU, we have Age of Ultron, which makes no sense at all.

Even if not taken into account the whole thing about calling it an age when it only lasted a few days, there is no way it should have lasted for such a short period. Even Ultron shouldn't have been able to do what he did in so little time.

After all there was no way that the Hydra base just happened to have the perfect equipment and materials to make new Ultron bodies. This alone would like have taken weeks for him to set up mass production.

All in all, such an event should have lasted for at least a month if not more. And I wish to give things the time they take. Finding an SCP object wouldn't be quick and easy. Searching every corner of the world takes time.

This is why many objects that have been summoned haven't either shown up yet or played much of a role; while not every object will take up much space in this story, many still have much yet to offer.

But since I'm not going to do time skips, it will take months for anything to happen. Take something like SCP-1000, which I have slightly altered to be somewhat intelligent once again. They have been around for a while now but have not played much of a role.

That's because there is no way they could. Even something like Hydra spent decades before they were ready to make a move, and many other groups are the same. Things take time, and while a movie or comic might not respect that, I want to at least try.

As for the future, I will be continuing doing as I have been. Slowly revealing more of the secrets of the SCP Foundation, I'm sure many are aware of the true identity of a few of the important members, such as O5-1, O5-2, and Ghost; if not, well, everything will be made clear in time.

Since the last time I did this, I have revealed a lot about the system or Solomon's wisdom. The system was always something I wasn't very happy with; it was just a leftover from the work I took my inspiration from and never meant to be too big a deal.

And onto Alexander, I shall explain things here in a bit of detail. The current Alexander is very different from the Alex we first met back in chapter 1. Something I visualized is that I never use the shorthand of Alex to refer to him anymore.

Alexander was a person, someone from our world, someone who transmigrated into the Marvel world. How? Why? That's all yet to come.

Long ago, I read a Warhammer 40k fiction about someone transmigrating into the emperor of mankind. Yet rather than becoming the emperor, this person was consumed by the emperor; after all, what are we but a collection of memories and experiences? And how could someone from our world match someone who lived for thousands of years?

With Alexander's memories unlocked, it was only natural that the older, more experienced O5-1 Alexander would take over, given that to him, the entire life of our world, Alex, would be little more than a short dream.

Still, I will be taking a small break from the main story to focus on a small side story, a little adventure of some of the Marvel characters, while Alexander takes a back seat. And depending on if you are a patron backer or not, you might already be reading about that these days.

Once that is done, we will move back to dealing with more SCP objects and move toward the next major Marvel event, which is Fury's big day—or what would have been so.

After all, I have already dealt with the events of Ironman 2, so that won't happen; there will be no finding the frozen captain or anything about the Hulk, so all that will remain is Thor, something that I have big plans for.

A lot of events are going to be very different from what they were in the movies, and it wouldn't be fun otherwise. What is the point of starting the story before those events if not to change them?

Anyway, I'm going on a short 10-day trip and will keep on writing and uploading daily, though I can't promise that I will always be on time with the uploads since only the Pateron has speculated uploads.

It's not that other platforms don't have the option, but uploading the chapter manually is just far easier, so that's what I'm going to do.
