Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Chakra Cripple?

A sudden feeling of being pulled and contracted from the warm embrace moments prior caused Jasmine to immediately awaken. The super bright light, cold air, and blurry vision made her double-take as a giant woman held Jasmine in her hands.

Gradually, Jasmine's vision cleared. The woman holding her had a glowing bluish-green energy radiating from her hands as she checked Jasmine's health.

A frown was visible, though...

"A child without chakra yet alive, how strange," the woman remarked.

The woman's eyebrow almost comically shot to her hairline, eliciting a giggle from Jasmine.

"The world is a cruel place, little one, especially without a family and even more so without chakra," The woman sighed before putting Jasmine in a glass crib.

...

Time Skip - 5 Years

Jasmine learned the hard way of being treated as if she were a cripple, which, truth be told, she indeed could be considered one. While everyone else who was blessed with the energy grew quicker than an average human on earth, she was considered frail for her age in the world of Naruto.

Yet, while the kids at the Konoha orphanage played ninja or house, she was at the library learning. After all, the ninja world may appear technologically backward to some, but they had advanced technology in other areas. For example, have you ever wondered how they power the lights in Naruto? Or how they cool or cook food? No? Well, since this is the real world, it couldn't be ignored.

Jasmine found out about chakra coal; it's way cleaner and more efficient than the coal on earth. This explains how they power daily appliances with little to no air pollution.

Other interesting things she read were about seals that drew in ambient chakra, though there was sadly nothing about how to make them.

Soon, Jasmine was to attend the academy ninja courses as it's mandatory for every child in Konoha, unless, of course, you have an excuse. Which Jasmine had in spades, with her being a chakra cripple and all. Tomorrow, she would explain how she was unfit to be a ninja to Lord Third Hokage to opt-out and focus on learning how to make some Ryo.

After all, it's better to have her priorities straight instead of having a foolish notion of being a ninja.

...

"Lord Third, I believe I'm unfit to be a ninja," Jasmine said.

Sarutobi puffed smoke from a pipe, a frown on his face. Jasmine proved to have zero talent as a ninja; she was a chakra cripple, though he wished she did. For she showed wisdom beyond her age, matching Itachi when he was her age. Alas, a potentially fine Konoha ninja slipping out of his grasp due to a genetic mutation, soured his mood.

Taking a deeper inhale, he sighed, "Understood, Jasmine. You'll be withdrawn from attending the mandatory ninja courses but instead will attend the secondary courses."

Sarutobi mentally nodded his head; it was the right move. Indeed, have her exposed to the propaganda so that she's loyal to the village. Even if she's a cripple, she has the potential to be a merchant, bringing money to the village economy and thus fueling Konoha's ninjas with supplies, money, etc.

After all, a ninja village is nothing without the civilians fueling the economy. Sarutobi and his predecessors learned that the hard way, which is why he does his utmost to keep the civilians happy and protected.

"Lord Third, I'll be taking my leave."

After the little girl bowed and left, he was reminded of the stack of papers in front of him, causing him to grunt, long used to his ever-growing mortal enemy.

...

With that load off Jasmine's shoulders, she felt she needed to make some money. After all, she may have all of Willy Wonka's blueprints and chemical compounds, but to even make a simple chocolate bar required non-native materials to Konoha.

Sighing, Jasmine pouted, 'If only I could just have whatever I wanted appear but nooo, I have to make money...'

She wasn't gifted with chakra or a wealthy merchant family; she had nothing to her name like those protagonists in novels she read.

Even her supposed biological family died during the Nine-Tailed Fox rampage, making her not even have a home. Unlike Naruto, who was given a monthly allowance and an apartment, all the other orphans had to spend their time at the Konoha orphanage, which, while not the worst place, was tight on money.

A sudden thought came to Jasmine's mind, 'Maybe this is part of the reason why he faces resentment from the orphans because while they have nothing to their name, he's getting the king's treatment and everyone else struggles, which makes sense because he's the Fourth Hokage's son and the village's jinchuriki.'

While she had various theories about Naruto's treatment, Jasmine decided it was more important to make money. After all, she was powerless and a chakra cripple in this ninja world.
