Although Zhou Hengyang's words were harsh, his actions spoke volumes of his attentiveness and consideration as he ate. He didn't allow Su Wen to take his chopsticks; instead, he fed her after scooping up some rice.

"I can manage," Su Wen protested, her cheeks flushing at his proximity. How could she allow him to feed her?

"With your swollen arm, how can you eat properly?" Zhou Hengyang glanced at her, still evidently annoyed.

"Did I not eat when you were gone?" Su Wen murmured.

Though her voice was low, Zhou Hengyang heard her. His brows furrowed, and his chopsticks froze momentarily.

"I'm sorry," she said.

"Why are you apologizing to me?"

"Never mind." Zhou Hengyang laughed, a hint of bitterness in his tone. "Let's eat."

"I didn't expect Tian Xiulan's cooking to be so good," Su Wen remarked, eyeing the sumptuous spread.

Zhou Hengyang's expression darkened.
