Chapter 7: Jhambu's Questions

I never thought of what am I going to do if I answer the questions wrong. Losing was not an option, I must win and that's it. Time is going to be an issue for me after consuming the fruit so without any further delay I asked Jhambhu

"Bring on the first question"

He gave a faint smile. It seemed as if he thinks I overestimated myself. Indeed, how will his pride allow an E-ranker newbie to be considered worthy of something? Even on earth, most people had this type of attitude toward me. It's time to build my status and let others know the worth of this E-ranked player.

I can't lose my cool now as I have to answer typical questions. So I took a deep breath and listened to what he said.

"Here comes my very first question. Tell me what are these 4 things.

If abandoned, what makes one pleasant? If abandoned, what does not lead to sorrow? If abandoned, what ensures prosperity? If abandoned, what makes one happy?" asked Jhambhu.

"The abandoning of pride makes one pleasant. Pride is one of the seven deadly sins for a reason. It closes our minds to learning, makes us selfish, and jeopardizes our roles as leaders and successful business owners. But putting pride aside can help us in our endeavors to be better and more successful.

whereas,

The abandoning of anger does not lead to sorrow.

The abandoning of desire ensures prosperity.

The abandoning of regrets makes one happy."

Jhambhu was stunned to see how confidently I replied. Indeed like others, he underestimated me. He didn't comment on my answer and went on with the second question.

"My second question is

What is heavier than earth? What is higher than the sky?

"One's mother is heavier than the Earth, the burden of a fetus she carries in her womb for months is far heavier than what the planet Earth has to carry. The struggle a woman goes through while accepting the task of being a mother. One's mother is equal to ten fathers, or even to the whole earth. There is no senior person equal to the mother. Indeed, she is above all others in terms of the reverence and respect due to her. It is for this reason that people offer so much respect to their mothers.

And.

The father is higher than the sky. Fathers, like mothers, are pillars in the development of a child's emotional well-being. Children look to their fathers to lay down the rules and enforce them. They also look to their fathers to provide a feeling of security, both physical and emotional. The loss of one's father makes the child feel like the most vulnerable person in the world. The disappearance of the sky even won't make such an impact as made by the absence of one's father."

No comment was passed by Jhambhu. I was not sure if I had answered the first two questions correctly or not. Jhambhu didn't seem as if he is going to praise me. He asked the final question. Most probably his absence of comments means the answers were satisfactory.

"Now my final question is, What do you think about your answers, and how were you able to gain such wisdom?"

"My answers may not be correct, maybe they don't need to be. Some answers are not meant to be correct but rather they must be satisfactory, sound the same but it isn't. I had been through so much pain, sorrow, and misery which are heard by none. Still haven't uttered a single word to anyone, obviously, it makes you depressed but who cares. There's always another day with a burst of sunshine, and a world full of people who don't give a shit about you, begin their periodic chaotic life filled with miseries. In this world of negligence, putting on a fake smile on your face seems far better to me than expressing myself to this world of judgmental people. I know this might sound crazy but, this depressive state of mine helped me to enter into a deep ocean of questions. Questions, the answers to which are often termed as philosophy. Wise people are always trying to understand themselves. They look within to learn why they feel, think, and do what they do. So they know what their strengths and weakness are. If one spends more time introspecting than judging others, he/she is on the way to becoming a wise person.

So did I.

I tried to understand the purpose of my existence. Although I was never able to get an answer. But this introspection provided me with answers to the misery of this world. And I can say that my miseries triggered my introspection which eventually bestowed me with wisdom."

Jhambhu liked my answers and said, "All your answers are absolutely correct and satisfactory. I am highly impressed by you boy. After looking at you, I expected nothing much. Like, how much knowledge will an E-ranked weak player possess? But you proved me wrong. All the others who were ever able to answer my questions were monks or priests. So basically, you are the first player to have answered all these questions and the owner of a personal void."

I was so happy to hear someone appreciating me. It is like a rare opportunity.

"Thankyou so much Jhambhu.

But why do the monks and priest need them for?"

"Monks and priests are believed to have a treasure of gems and crystals. These items are offered to them as thanks. As time passed by the devotion of the monks towards their god perished. They began ill practices and one among them was asking for crystals and gems from a devotee as a payback."

"I see so they are nothing but thugs who are dressed as preachers, and in order to store these items they need a storage void "

" Haahaa exactly. Lokk Don't underestimate the potential of this void. I do hope you will make proper use of its powers. Improve its rank and you will unlock its other powers. I wish you a successful journey. Hope we will meet after 100 astral years, don't you dare to die before that. "

Soon the voice of Jhambhu became fainter I was back to consciousness.

---"User Lokkk is conscious. New item attained. Extraction completed. After 24 hours you will be restricted from entering the forest. The detail panel has been opened-

Name- Unnamed

Use- Storage purpose

Current Rank- D

Skill- It can level up

What would you like to name it ?"

"Since its current use is only storage I would like to name it "Cache" "

"The user has very bad taste in naming things. The void has been named Cache successfully."

"I guess I will change its name as its skills increase."

"Sound good. You now possess 3 items- Darkrai stone, An Egg, and Cache"

"Arora store the egg and stone in the Cache storage void"

A black void of nothingness opened. I bought the stone and egg near the void. I don't know how it works so I threw the items inside it.

"The items have been successfully stored"

Cool, it works.

The plant from which Cache emerged was no more there and the surrounding area of 5 m was filled with shining grass of all the colors of a rainbow.

"Arora examine these grass"

"Examination completed.

Name- Development herb

Use - Can be used to raise the level of Cache"

"What amount of grass is required to increase the level of Cache from d to c ?"

" Blue and green grass, 100 each"

There was only 10 grass of each color.

"Arora store all the grass in Cache for the time being. I will grow them somewhere"

"All right Lokk"

"Now, Open the daily task panel"

"Daily task-

1. 1000m runup (800/1000)

2. Pushups (0/200)"

"I need something to increase my stamina search for something like that in the forest"

then I went to find a herb that was meant to increase the stamina of the user for 1 min. The power of the herb could only be used thrice a day so I need to be selective.

"Arora make use of the stamina plant. Within this one minute, I will try to complete these 200 pushups"

"Nice strategy. Activating the effect of enhanced stamina in 3,2,1."

I had to do 2 pushups in a second. The stamina power will prevent me from getting fatigued. Although I was able to complete it within 2min it took around 30 seconds extra. The reason I am trying to complete the quest is to gain the reward which is muscle development syrup. I need a good physique before entering Spear Goblin Village. But I only have 1 day left in Manloch forest because of the Jhambhu curse.

To be continued....
