Chapter 138: No! No! Take Your Time!

Valerio wore his coat over the casual clothing he wore under it and slipped his feet into his shoes.

He sat down on the chair, and Everly grabbed the comb from the table.

She applied oil to his hair and gently began to comb it.

"Valerio." She called him.

"Hmm?" Valerio looked at her through the mirror.

"When will you come back? Like, what time?" She inquired, and Valerio thought for a few moments before glancing at her.

"Honestly, I don't know. Vincent's family dinner is always a mess and quite stressful, so I can't really tell. It depends on how it goes today." He elucidated, and Everly slowly nodded her head at him.

"I see…" She let out a soft breath, and Valerio furrowed his brows at her.

"Why do you ask though? Are you going to miss me?" He inquired, and even though that was not the reason she asked, Everly nodded her head at him.
