Chapter 37: Yearning.

Eve could not exactly comprehend how the man did it but, she somehow saw that they were back in the chambers. Ezriel brought her behind the screen before he let her down. As though he was reading her mind, Ezriel grabbed her wrist and forcefully made her stand in front of him. He fixed her a disapproving gaze and shook his head. 

"Don't even think about it" he uttered. 

"I… I…" she stuttered and chewed on her lower lip. She quickly lowered her eyes and glanced at the marble titled ground. Why had she never thought that the particular flower design on the marble was actually so enchanting? She pondered in her head. 

Ezriel saw through her actions immediately and a dark chuckle rang from his throat. 

"Why do I find you shy now? Were you not so eloquent and sharp a while ago?" He cocked his brows slightly and commented. 

Hearing his words, Eve felt struck and her head jerked up, she snorted coldly and parted her lips. "Hmph! Who is shy?!" She snapped.
