Chapter 10: My Dear Friend's Viewpoint (Part 1)
HA Ha Ha, i am Kang-Ma, a construction worker at Hanay-constructions. I was an entrepreneur three months ago, i lost everything because of some bad deals i did.
Now i am a part-timer here, and i have a sick son to take care of. His mom passed a long time ago, and i never forgot her, she was the nicest sweetest person ever.
"Kang-nim can you help me here?"
"Coming, HaHa HaHa let's go boys" Kang.
It was hard keeping everything together. the hospital bills, the debt i am on, and the apartment rent were draining me very fast, Ah i should never give up, my son needs me the most right now.
I lived on the edge for about a year, until one day, a friend of mine called Jiu, called me.
"HELLO, Kang, how are you" Jiu.
"HELLO, How are you Jiu? I am doing great." Kang.
"How is your son Daehyoon? Is he getting better?" Jiu.
"He is, thankfully, Ahh..." Kang.
Jiu is a good friend, he calls me regularly asking about me... I feel bad not telling him everything.
"And you how's aunt Yeji?" Kang.
"She is okay, her nagging never grows old, my wife is having a hard time." Jiu.
"Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, she is still young in heart. Moms before wives remember. Ha Ha .." Kang.
"Ha ha, yeah sure, but her expenses are growing with her. Yeah, by the way, i got a call from Minji today, he offered me a one-time job with a lot of cash." Jiu continued
"Ah, i am thinking of taking it..."
"ARE YOU CRAZY!!! IT MUST BE Something illegal" Kang.
"I know Kang-nim, but he said it is no danger... And that amount of cash will solve my problems..." Jiu.
"Yeah, why don't we meet and i will explain to you, it's been a long time since we drank together." Jiu.

Days passed and me on the edge became me falling into the abyss of debt, i don't know how to do it, hospital expenses were getting bigger every month, and i was months late on rent. My house owner is a nice person... I can't keep using him like that. that old man helped me when i was at my worst.
Sometime later Jiu passed by, and picked me on a car, is this his car??
"Kang... Are we friends?" Jiu.
"WHAT YOU TALKING ABOUT, WE GROW TOGETHER" Kang.
"Then why you kept a secret about your situation?" Jiu.
"..."
He did figure it out eventually, i don't want to make him worry about me... I am not that pathetic, my problems are my problems.
"I know everything, the loan you take from the Beo Gang, and Daehyoon's situation..." Jiu.
"STOP! Jiu! You have enough problems of your own, you are a good friend..." Kang.
"THEN LET ME HELP YOU, YOU ARE A GOOD FRIEND TOO, I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU CRUMBLED AND SUFFERING..." Jiu continued
"Kang-nim you helped me many times in the past... Let me help you!" Jiu.
Ah, i think i have no other choice.
I bit my lips in anger, i was so angry about myself, i wasn't a good father nor a good husband, and now i don't even talk about my problems to my best friend...
Jiu parked the car and got down, i did the same...
"Listen Kang-nim, i was also in a bad shape, now i am not, and all of that was because of that one-time job i told you about a while back. I won't force you to take it. But think about who's going to take care of Daehyoon if something happened to you... I can arrange something with Minji for you, so why don't you think about it?" Jiu.
One-time job, it's very tempting. I thought it was something illegal.
"Ah, okay i will... Now what we are doing here?" Kang.
Jiu thinks that this will help me, i will trust him. He is a truly good friend.
"This is a good restaurant, let's eat here and we can go meet Minji for the job" Jiu.
We entered the restaurant, it was humble looking from the outside. With one door that takes you upstairs, but the inside was so classy looking.
"You sure we are going to eat here Jiu?" Kang.
"Yes, i can afford to eat in places like this from now on, And it's on me. Let your friend treat you this time." Jiu.
I am going to cry. HOLD IT IN KANG, don't show your weak side to such a nice person.
"Thank you! You are truly a good friend Jiu" Kang.
We ate lunch there and continued our way to Minji's office.
*PHONE RINGS*
"Hello!" Kang.
"Ah, Hello Kang-nim, where are you we need you at the new construction site"
"Ah Yejoon, i can't be there at the moment. Can you please cover me until i come back?" Kang.
"I can't Kang-nim, we need to finish the work today and we need you here, you are in charge here, i can't take responsibility for the progress." Yejoon.
"Ah..."
"I am sorry Yejoon, but i am a bit far from the site i won't be there till 15:00" Kang.
"Okay, Kang-nim we are waiting for you!" Yejoon.
Ah, what to do now? I promised Jiu that i will meet Minji today.
"How far are you from Minji's office?" Kang.
"10 minutes and we will be there" Jiu continued
"Who was on the phone?"
"A worker in my team, they need me in the new site. I told him i will be there in 1 hour" Kang.
"It's 13:47 don't worry, we won't take long." Jiu.
We arrived at Minji's office, Menji was a calm pall whom we studied with. But his office looked shady... STOP IT! Trust your friend Jiu, he won't take me to something that will harm me.
We entered the building, and it was very dilapidated with a dark long hallway, we entered the office and found Minji sitting in front of a wealthy-looking man. Minji greeted us, and the wealthy man excused himself to leave.
"So Minji i trust you on that matter" the wealthy man.
"Don't worry hyong-nim, i will make sure you are satisfied." Minji.
Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust Jiu, Trust J...
I know this situation looks very shady, i need to hold myself, my son needs me.
"So yeah, how are you doing Jiu? The client was very satisfied last time." Minji.
"Ha ha ha ha, i am not here to talk about that... Ha ha ha..." Jiu.
Minji's face turned serious suddenly.
"So why you are here? You are looking for another job?" Minji.
"No no no, i am in very good shape right now, i am here for my friend Kang." Jiu pointed his hand at me.
"Hey, i am Kang-Ma, we studied together." Kang.
"Ah, i remember you, how are you, Kang? Ah, such good days, this brings old memories." Minji.
Ah, i was worried for nothing, he still seems like a good person.
"Thank you Minji, i am doing fine, how about you?" Kang.
"You see i opened this employment agency, and the thing is rolling, what about you i heard that your company was bankrupt?" Minji.
