Chapter 329: Mark Parsons' Lurking Spies

The unexpected prison break roused Gregory and Alexis Hornthorpe from their beds early in the morning.

They sat together around a meeting table and waited impatiently for the head of their coast guard, the Alpha of the Blazefur Hunters Pack, to arrive.

According to the pack Beta's report, the Alpha was not feeling well after the major fight at the coast border. Nevertheless, his immediate attendance was required. The vampires would have had more understanding if Brett won the confrontation. Alas, he lost miserably.

"I can't believe this," Gregory gnashed his teeth at Brett as soon as he showed up. "How could a group of werepires and two hundred-something rabid vampires fail to prevent the prisoners from escaping across the sea???"

"They betrayed us," Brett explained calmly. "They aided the three pure-blood vampires who fought against us instead."

Gregory rose to his feet and smashed a cup of tea to the floor.

"What a rotten excuse! Couldn't you do anything about it???"
