Lyle, Duke Karswell, and Conrad gathered the commanders of the army, about 10 of them, to partake in the infiltration. The secrecy of the tunnels was crucial; any premature revelation could lead to the enemy fortifying their defenses.

They also gathered some powerful officers that were loyal to the cause, those men would stay at the exits of the tunnels in order to stop anyone from leaving.
