Chapter 23: QUIT CHASING ME

"Kristen, come join me." the boy shouted as he danced with random people at an open beach bar.

"Just enjoy for a while because we are returning soon. I don't find this entertaining at all." She shouted back at the boy as the music was too loud for her liking.

"Such a mood killer, aren't you? Heaven will never provide you this entertainment so enjoy while you can."

"I bet you are enjoying Earth just as much as Lucifer." She groaned while Christian got pulled further in by a bunch of girls.

She couldn't understand what the fun was in it because who would like to dance in barely no clothes under the sun? I mean all are drinking some strange coloured alcohol and grinding on each other, the reeking intoxicant smell. Kristen noticed how people who have never seen each other in life now suddenly kiss and make out. Oh! this sure is disgusting.

"Is this how Earth is? Uncle really has to rebuild the creatures." she mentally noted while strolling back to the end of the cafe where the crowd was much less.

"Miss, any order?" a boy suddenly popped out of nowhere with an iPad.

"Anything without alcohol and that weird white powder people add." She had no idea what it was and the boy chuckled.

"Sure, a cocktail it seems. I will prepare one myself and bring it to you." he reassuringly smiled before running to the counter.

"Cocktail? Such a weird name."

"Oh My! Geeeez! Who do we have here? Helloo Lilah."

A very similar honey-dripping voice was heard out of the blue taking her by surprise. Kristen jumped up from the seat and looked back to find the same man who made her feel butterflies standing a table away. She couldn't believe her eyes, her heart already beating out of the box at the surprise visit of him.

"Lucifer." the name rolled out of her tongue instantly, she was craving to call his name out.

"What a good surprise from a pretty lady. I didn't think you were the type to be here." he continued while walking to her.

"Even I didn't think but here I am." she sighed, as she threw a glance at Christian who was almost drowned in the crowd.

"But this is gonna be a good vacation it seems."

"You are alone? It seems like your 'baby' is not around. Are you perhaps cheating on her?" Kirsten asked looking around subtly.

"Wow! First of all, I am not alone because I dragged a friend along with me and secondly, we are in a open relationship so no room for cheating." he explained, pulling a chair to sit opposite of her.

"What does that mean? Open relationship?"

"Geez! Sometimes, it feels like you are from another world and not me. How are you so clueless?" He asked while taking her drink to his side and smelling it.

"Hey! Don't sniff my drink. You can order your own." Kristen got in between while trying to reach for the glass.

"Cocktail doesnt suit my taste anyways. Here you go but why would you come all the way here for this drink? They have the best collection of champagne, should I recommend one for you?"

"No thankyou, sir. I enjoy this one more."

"As you say, princess." Lucifer chuckled as he leaned back to the chair and eyeing her.

"So where is your friend?" she quickly asked to keep the conversation going, hoping he wouldn't leave sooner because of boredom.

"Oh, a small clash during the car park so she is dealing with it."

Meanwhile at the parking lot...

"Ma'am, I d-didn't say it w-was completely your f-fault." the scared man reasoned as a sharp blade was pointed at his neck.

"You hit me with your fucking surfboard, you moron!" she growled, smashing his head onto the surfboard.

"Aghhhh."

"S-should we call the police?" another man asked watching his friend getting tortured and his unbearable screams penetrating their ossicles.

"Dare to move and you would end up calling an ambulance but not before your souls enter hell. I fly faster than other demons." She smirked before jumping off the man and walking to the other man while twirling her knife.

"P-please, d-dont hurt me." He cried, taking steps backward.

"Did you underestimate me? Like because of sexuality? I mean that is absolutely offensive and I had like to enlighten your prejudice."

Soon the parking lot was filled with loud cries and screams which were accompanied by sinister laughs and curses. Just as Lucifer explained to Kristen how his friend is having a friendly agreement regarding a basic argument. That was the most friendly agreement Selene could have ever pulled off because both of the men are alive and would be able to crawl back home or hospital. Usually she just shows her scary demon face to the people and paralyze them in an instant, hating the method of conversation.

"Hmm, so who are you with?" Lucifer asked as he looked around.

"Oh, a f-friend."

"Where did he go abandoning this pretty jewel? People don't usually have the habit of leaving their possession out to public."

"I am n-not a possession."

"Look at you turning from a diamond to a ruby right in front of my eyes."

"Okay, enough. You can't flirt with me like that, where is your damn shame?" Kristen asked sternly to hide her blush from spreading further.

"You turn more red when you are angry, do you know that?"

"Whatever, I have to go and quit chasing me." she spoke sassily while getting up and going down to the beach.

She can't believe they met again because it was totally uncalled for and every moment with him only makes her go crazy. She doesn't remember when Gabriel made her feel this way, probably he never did. Their relationship was quiet mature so no one bothered to flirt with each other and being in heaven means all work and no break.

"Does that mean you want to chase me instead? I am down for it." Lucifer shouted at the girl who just waved her hands before disappearing to the crowd.

"My father do make good humans too." he spoke to himself before running back to the parking lot.
