Arren opened his mouth to say something before closing it again. He was at a loss for words. No, honestly, he wanted to ask what made Spade trust him so much.

However, he didn't say it out loud because he already somehow knew how the alpha would answer him. And if Spade similarly asked him the same question, he would answer the same. 

He let out a laugh, dispersing most of his gloomy mood, which made the other smile as well. After gradually calming from his emotion, Arren bravely met Spade's eyes at this moment. 

Arren realized that getting caught up in his emotions and self-blame couldn't possibly help them in this situation. He was already here, and he needed to tell the alpha about what he knew without any reservations anymore. 

He swallowed for a bit, thinking of how to say them out loud without sounding absurd. At least he didn't want to make it seem like he was joking about this matter, and he wanted to show that he was serious.
