Allen stood frozen, his senses overwhelmed by shock, as Akiyama's arrow found its mark on one of the students. The surprising twist, however, was that the student didn't succumb to death but instead transformed into a radiant light, his body vanishing without a trace.

"Allen, you can't die in Oxwade," Fidelma reassured him, breaking the stunned silence.

In Oxwade, the consequences of death were not as final as one might expect. Instead of facing true mortality, a deceased student would be inexplicably returned to the checkpoint on the second floor. The principal, Eliphas never explained to the others how this worked, but some speculations came out about it. Some said it was part of the dungeon's unique systemization, and the Oxwadeshire dungeon's system is that it did not allow you to die.
