Chapter 268: 29. His absence

Lucian went ahead to prepare Michael for the day. Gloria didn't give him a go-ahead but he understood her language as she folded her arms, looking away. 

Therefore, he took Micheal from the living room and led him to his room. Gloria was watching him and until he left her sight, she didn't look away. 

"You know," while washing Michael, Lucian started. "We might not see each other for some time," he told the little boy. 

Michael waited for the water on his face to wash away before speaking. 

"Why?" He asked. 

"We might not," Lucian touched his cheek. "I'll miss you," he said. 

Lucian was obviously extremely sad. Everything was troubling. He didn't know how to move with it. He didn't know where to start. 

His only problem wasn't winning Gloria's heart, he also had work dilemmas. And now that Gloria wanted him away, perhaps he should use that time to fix his professional problems.
