Chapter 57: Entrance Examination (9): Draven's Group.

"No," replied the girl coldly. "I can do it myself."

Charles, who offered to place the camera atop Kiara's head, felt awkward from the indifferent rejections.

"Instead, why don't you offer her then?"

Kiara did not point out to who she was referring, but there was only another girl besides her and her twins.

She's June, the girl in Hugo's group.

Charles does not have much impression of her, aside from feeling unusual from this girl. After all, the women he tried to flirt with came from instinct, telling him they must be the girl he wanted from his heart.

A girl who would depend on him and would raise the child they created. Unlike the girl Kiara mentioned.

"Did not like her? You must be a racist." Kiara sneered.

"Am not," replied Charles seriously. He then closed their distance, seemingly intending to whisper in her ear. "I just felt unusual to this girl."

Kiara pushed Charles's face away from her, replying back.

"You just wanted to smell me, pervert."

Kiara's reddened face did not escape from Charles's sharp eyes. He suddenly felt invigorated, wanting to continue flirting more, when a cold voice drifted through his ear.

"Stop playing." Draven's tone brought chills to their bone. "Don't forget that we will about to participate in an event where our lives are at stake."

A depressing atmosphere suddenly descended on their group. Even Charles kept his mouth shut and did not retort. His hair stood on end as he realized an emotion clouded his heart.

He felt scared.

"Do the leader supposed to scare his member?"

June tidied her long hair into a buns hairstyle. She did not bat an eye when she questioned Draven's role.

"What should be supposed the leader do then?" Draven's eyebrows furrowed. "Letting its members trapped in a delusion against Reality?"

"For you, what does it mean to be a leader?" June stared straight into Draven's eyes.

"A leader should be feared rather than loved," replied Draven.

"That is if one cannot do both," June replied.

Silence permeated the atmosphere, and the other group members were scared shitless as they wanted nothing but to stop their argument. However, what could they do? Their aura alone suggested they should be left alone, rather than poking the butt of the lion king.

"From Machiavelli, it is," said Draven. "I don't need them to love me, for I'm accustomed already to being unloved. People come and go. Once this event end, this group will end, and each will go on their way."

"…"

June and the rest were speechless but felt emotional as well. They felt the loneliness radiating from Draven, and they knew at this moment the reason he doesn't show gentlemanliness. They felt their heartache, and they said no more afterward.

"Everyone is now entering," said Draven, much gentler than before. "Should we enter first or last?"

"We haven't introduced ourselves yet," said the girl with a hairpin.

"Kyla is right," supported by her twins.

"Knowing ourselves before entering the battle; greatly increase the chances of winning," said June in a robotic tone.

"I forgot about that," said Draven seriously. "I'm Draven, and I'm your leader. I don't need to introduce what role I'm taking, but know I'm the strongest here."

His voice was supposed to be low but loud enough for everyone to hear. Even the elder from the Four Academy and the General himself heard his proclamation, and some of them had their eyebrows arched in interest.

"What did you say, you bastard!" Kestrel jumped up in his seat. "Did you say you are the strongest? Among us?! Why don't we battle this out and find out!"

"Idiot!" Ivy snorted. "He means among the students who gathered here. He said he is the strongest!" Her voice was loud and provoking, causing the students to feel their pride was challenged.

Their reddened crimson eyes were directed through Draven and his group, causing his group to feel pressured by myriads of angry eyes.

"Oh! So that's what he meant! Interesting!" Kestrel's change of attitude turned a hundred and eighty degrees before sitting on his chair.

"You guys! This man claimed himself the strongest. Does no one want to test where does his courage coming from?"

The students immediately positioned themselves, wanting to pounce at Draven. However, Draven was unperturbed as his boring eyes did not even meet the countless gazes directed at him. He only faced his members and was waiting for them to introduce their selves.

"Let's not waste any more time," Ai said, looking at the General.

The latter nodded his head and understood what she meant.

"Please introduce yourselves now to the other members as you only have three minutes left. Afterward, everyone should have already lined up before the gate, and one by one will enter each five minutes interval."

Everyone immediately put aside their grudge for now against Draven but swore they would not let him off easily once they spotted him inside the dungeon.

Meanwhile, Draven's group heaved a vast sigh of relief, while the cause of their anxiety himself, Draven, did not even share the same emotion with them. They were astonished as they thought about what made Draven confident, claiming himself as the strongest.

"M-My name is Kyla." She tried her best to smile. "Pleasure meeting with you."

"My name is Kiara." She then stands beside Kyla. "As you can see, we are twins."

"M-My name is Charles." He stuttered. "I specialized in gathering information."

"June," she said while crossing her arms, causing some of her bulging muscles to be exposed. "I specialized in defense."

"I thought if you focused on enhancing your body, your brain would deteriorate," said Draven without hesitation.

He did not think there was something wrong with what he said, and Draven became even more perplexed when he sensed a killing intent radiating from June.

"Seeing the weapon behind your back, you must be specialized in the range area." Draven looked at the bow at Kiara's back, and the quiver filled with many arrows on her waist.

"You smell like herbs, which means you must have studied quite a lot in medicine." Draven looked at Kyla, seemingly afraid to meet his eyes.

He sighed.

"Why are you looking at me as though you wanted to chop me into pieces?" Draven frowned as he noticed June was still looking at him while she was crackling her knuckles.

"Have you forgotten what you said?" June asked.

"Draven, you should be aware of what you are saying without further thinking. Women get angry even in from little things, you know?" Kiara giggled.

"Sins come from actions, actions come from words, and words come from thoughts." June cracked her neck.

"Guys, we should stop playing," Draven said seriously.

June could only helplessly give up on beating Draven, but she swore he would pay the price later on. After all, she did not enter the group without a reason.

"Time's up!" His ear-piercing voice immediately garnered everyone's attention.

"Gather before the gate. Each group who wanted to enter first, line up in front!"

"We should enter first," suggested Draven. "If we enter early, it will stop us from wasting more time and quickly kill the boss."

Once again, his voice drifted, and everyone was immediately angered. Even Jasper, Hugo, and Stella grew annoyed by his narcissistic personality. While Aiden, Isabella, and the rest students from Zeka high school paid no attention to it. After all, how they argued something which was factual?

"Indeed, It's the perfect time to kill," said June.

The twins and Charles could only nod their heads and followed their leader, Draven, walking before the gate, paying no attention to angry gazes at them. For some reason, despite the raging emotions in their heart, they paved their way to Draven who was now closing to the Dimensional Gate.
