Chapter 50: I know not this Shadow Lord!

"Have you ever heard of a shadow lord?" Elle asked.

Her mother just stared at her for a moment. She scratched her chin with her right hand as she thought.

"Well?" Elle asked, not liking the long pause.

"A shadow lord?" She replied. "I am afraid I don't know anything about that."

"Then why did it take you so long to answer?!" Elle demanded to know.

"Well, something crossed my mind, but it probably isn't related." Her mother replied. "Tell you what, I will ask the elder about it and get back with you."

"Thanks, but we need something else too." Elle said. "The shadow lord is after Dax. Apparently, he needs Dax's blood to free himself from his thousands of years of imprisonment. His seal is weakening, and he is sending shadow assassins after Dax. Do you happen to know a spell to strengthen the seal?"
