Chapter 79: The Horde [2]

"To the water!" Ayo bellowed. "Drive them back!"

With their last reserves of strength, the four companions slowly forced the crabs back toward the surf. Ayo hacked and slashed relentlessly. Hero crushed any that slipped past. Tipsy dove and weaved, slicing at their legs. Blackheart snapped and harried the rear ranks.

Step by bloody step they advanced, until the chittering horde was knee-deep in the crashing waves.

"Further!" urged Ayo. "We've almost got them!"

The crabs clicked their pincers angrily, facing the choice between defeat and being dragged into the depths.

As they neared the water, they began to show hesitation, refusing to follow their attackers too deep into the water.

Ayo frowned, "I taught as much..." His frown became a menacing grin.

"Dragon power"

He had never forgotten about it.
