Chapter 47: Chapter47: A Promise

The weekend after the feast Chase woke up to an empty bed. He sat up, confused and a little upset, and looked around the room. There were no signs of Morgan.

He swung his feet over the side of the bed to get up and the bedroom door swung open, revealing Morgan who was holding a large tray of food. Chase blinked at him for a moment before frowning.

“What’s this?” he asked, motioning towards the tray in Morgan’s hands.

“Breakfast in bed,” Morgan announced, beaming at Chase brightly.

“What’s the occasion?” Chase pressed, shuffling back into bed to sit against the headboard.

“I know we had a celebration feast earlier this week but I thought we could have our own private celebration,” Morgan answered, setting the tray down on his bedside table before handing Chase a plate.

“We need to do a supply run but I thought maybe we could do something special before coming back,” Morgan explained, sliding into bed to sit beside Chase. “Breakfast is just the tip of the iceberg.”
