Chapter 254: Do it

Confusion clouded Celeste's mind when she saw he was serious about wanting to fight her. Wasn't he supposed to be trying to talk her out of rejecting him? Why was he saying he came to fight? 

"I don't want to fight yo—"

Veron hit the spear away from his chest, cutting her off. "I didn't ask if you wanted to or not. I said I came here to fight. You brought me back to kill me, right? I'm ready to die. But not without a fight. Give me all you've got."

Celeste clenched her jaws when she heard his words. She already decided not to kill him anymore, but she wasn't going to tell him that. 

Since he wanted to fight, she was going to grant his wish. It might even help her shed some of the burden she still had left in her heart.

"Fine." She accepted the challenge and moved away to the side when he took a step toward her. 

While moving to the side, she swung her spear, aiming to hit him on the back, but he caught the weapon.
