Chapter 149: Get me the girl

"Hey, are you okay?" Zara probed, coming to sit beside Karina.

Ever since she went into her room, she didn't step out until dinner time, even when she knew Veron had left the house with Skye. 

She already knew the plan didn't work. There wasn't enough time for that to happen. So she decided to give Karina some space.

"I'm fine. Why?" Karina responded. She was back in her silk pajamas and her hair was tied in a low ponytail. Although Veron had kissed away the red lipstick, there were still traces of it left on her lips. 

"You look a little dull. Did he tell you what's going on?" Zara asked, hoping Karina would have some information.

She already suspected something serious was wrong when she heard Jadon tell Skye over the phone that there was an emergency. She would have found out if she wasn't trying to escape from Veron at that time.
