Chapter 66: This is what happened

If there was one thing Veron had come to know Karina with, it was punctuality. She was always on time. Only on a few occasions had he seen her come a few minutes or seconds after the time given. And those times, he could swear she had good reasons for being late.

It was for that same reason he instantly became worried when he stepped into the house the next day and her scent didn't welcome him. He got home fifteen minutes past five and she was not around already. Isn't that enough reason to be worried?

Thinking maybe something kept her and she was already on her way, he went to his room to freshen up while he waited for her. She should be there in five minutes at most. Twenty minutes was enough for whatever delayed her.

However, two minutes later, his heart grew heavy with worry, stronger than it was earlier and he couldn't relax anymore. There's a possibility that this was just a minor delay, but why couldn't he relax?
