Chapter 46: You are becoming wiser

The moment Veron stepped into the house, her scent was the first thing that welcomed him. He drew in a deep breath as he continued to advance into the house.

"See what you would have been enjoying every day, but you choose to be stubborn and stupid." Gerrard suddenly spoke in his head but Veron ignored him.

When he finally got to a point where he could see her clearly from where he stood, he paused and observed her.

She was back in her usual clothes, which didn't surprise him. What would have surprised him was if she decided to wear a dress again today.

But something caught his attention. She was talking freely and smiling at Roy, who was pouring her a glass of what he suspected to be water, and the smile was not the forced one he had come to know. This one was different, and it was directed at another man — his kitchen staff.
