Chapter 246: CLOSER

Lilia could see that her mother-in-law took a liking to Nikolai. She wasn't really worried that this man would scam Fortunata since they were acquainted with Stefan. Besides, Fortunata and her late husband settled the inheritance fifteen years ago. 

No one could really blame her for thinking of such a thing since they were not familiar with Nikolai. 

This man just came out of nowhere and claimed their families to be close friends. They never even heard anything about the Sloan family from Fortunata. 

"It's getting late," Nikolai said after checking his watch. "Thank you for allowing me to meet her and thank you so much for taking care of her." 

"Ah? Oh. No. No, it's fine," Lilia responded instantly. "She is our mother. It's only right that we take care of her," 

Nikolai just nodded his head without saying anything.
