Chapter 301: A New Familiarity

Only the flowers standing around them and swaying in the breeze knew of the secrets between the princess and knight - the noises they made were lost to the field and the barriers broken between them caused their youthful hearts to race as the two of them calmed down together. 

Even Melan had wandered further away as if the wise old horse was knowledgeable of the privacy the couple sought amongst the wildflowers. 

Henry lay on his side so he could look down at the princess and she was on her back, her blue eyes watching the clouds passing by. Occasionally she spared a glance at the handsome knight admiring her. She felt his finger lazily play with a strand of her hair where it lay on the cloak next to her. 

The princess had never laid on the ground outside before but it started to feel like their own private bed. It was a place away from the universe even though if they stood up, they would return to the world they knew. She didn't want to return just yet.
