Chapter 55: Friends and Foes

After classes ended, Erik headed straight to the train station to check if the thaids had devoured the bodies.

During the ride, anxiety churned in his gut as he worried someone might recognize him, but he made it there with no problems.

<I shouldn't really go back to the crime scene, but either today or a month later, I still need to go there to hunt Thaids…>

Erik arrived at the city's northern outskirts and quickly checked the area. Seeing no one around, he entered the wheat fields and kept low among the stalks.

He scanned for any houses or people nearby while using the tall wheat as cover.

He stayed close to the ground when passing open areas to avoid being seen. 

After a ten-minute trek through the expansive fields, he reached the breach, finding it unchanged since his last visit.

He went through it and headed for the trees and bushes where he had left the bodies. Upon getting there, he found them devoured.
