Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Elders of the South

As they enter the great hall, Selene’s surprised by all the people that have filled the room. She wonders if everyone in the city is there. Guards line the walls all the way up to the throne platform. The Elders have shifted back to human form and stand, fully clothed, before the Alpha and Luna of the North.

Lucas looks over to Onyx and Selene as they walk in. He motions for them to join them at the front of the hall. Tessa smiles at Selene as she stands beside her. She reaches out and takes her hands, reassuring her with a subtle nod and a squeeze that everything is going to be okay.

Onyx stands like a stone next to Lucas. Selene tries to match his stern demeanor as she stands proudly between her grandparents. Robbin doesn’t acknowledge them as he stands beside the other three Elders. The introductions begin with Robbin, and Selene watches as the other three Elders scowl at her. Robbin finishes and the next Elder in line doesn’t skip a beat as he steps forward.
