Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Memories

Selene staggers a little, but Onyx catches her. She leans against him while Onyx introduces himself. The Luna stands up and walks down the steps toward them. She stops in front of Selene and raises her hand to settle it against her cheek. The Luna’s eyes fill with tears.

“You look just like Jazelle did at your age,” she says. “I’m so happy to get to see you with my own eyes. I never thought this day would ever come.”

Selene reaches up and touches the Luna’s hand. Tears build up in her own eyes as she wraps her arms around her grandma for the first time. Her embrace is returned as the Luna holds her tightly.

Moments later, the Alpha of the North joins in and Selene finds herself sandwiched between her mother’s parents. She can’t help the tears from streaking down her face. Her emotions are at a max, and she doesn’t think she can take any more family surprises. In spite of her racing thoughts, her heart is full and Selene feels whole again.
