Chapter 16: Chapter Fifteen
Lila was awoken by the Billy's whimpers. She rubbed her eyes sleepily before looking up at him.
His eyes were shut but tears flowed from them. He clenched on to his comforter, so hard his knuckles turned white.
"It was him. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do." He cried as he thrashed his head back and forth.
"Billy." Lila spoke grabbing his arm.
"I didn't want to!" He blurted.
"Billy." Lila crooned, laying her hand against his cheek.
His eyes shot open, grabbing her wrist almost instantly. Lila gasped at his tight grip attempting to snatch her hand away.
He slowly turned her head toward her, his face relaxing as he realized it was only her. He immediately dropped her hand and pulled her onto of him. Billy wrapped his arms around Lila, sobbing as he clutched her tightly.
"I didn't do it." He blubbered. "Please believe me. I didn't do it."
Lila sat up from his chest, staring down at him. She wiped his tears away with her thumb before pressing a kiss to his nose.
"I believe you." She whispered.
Billy calmed down, eventually falling back asleep. His bedroom door creaked open revealing Max and El.
"Is he okay?" Max asked quietly.
"He's okay." Lila nodded. "Scared."
"The mind flayer is still here." El spoke. "But has a new host."
"We have to defeat it."
"We?" Billy asked. Sometime in the last few minutes, he'd woken up."Lila can't go."
"Yes I can." Lila scoffed.
"No, you can't." He argued. "You don't know half the shit I just went through. It's too dangerous."
"I am!" Lila argued back, standing up from the bed. "I'm going!"
Billy groaned extremely loud. "Then I guess I am too."
Lila smiled before turning back towards the girls. "When?"
"Now. We are going home." Eleven stated.
"Now? I'm fucking tired, guys." Billy whined.
"No one asked you to help!" Max scoffed.
"Fuck off, Max." Billy mumbled before standing up and grabbing his keys. "Let's go."
The four of them left the Hargrove house and began the drive to Hopper's cabin.
When they arrived to the cabin, Nancy's station wagon was already parked in the driveway.
"What we're having a big fucking party to kill this thing?" Billy mumbled as he slammed his door.
Lila grabbed onto his hand before looking up at him. "Be nice."
He mumbled something under his breath before wrapping his arms around her shoulder.
The four of them entered the house. Mike immediately hugged El and Lucas hugged Max. Billy tensed at the sight Max and Lucas.
Lila noticed and pinched his side. He groaned in pain before sitting down on the couch.
"El is going to look for the next host." Max said as she sat down beside Lucas.
"What? No? We wait for it to find us. Eleven needs to preserve her powers!" Mike argued.
"The quicker it gets here the quicker we can kill it!" Max argued back.
"Max, you've been abusing her powers for the last week!" Mike shouted. "We know you were spying on us!"
"Oh fuck off, Mike!" Max shouted. Billy snickered and Lila glared at him.
"Enough!" Eleven said. "I'll find them."
She plopped onto the floor, covering her eyes. She gasped before clinching her first.
"Heather."
Lila looked up at Billy who slouched down on the couch. "Alright, Time for me to go."
"No." Lila ordered grabbing his wrist.
"This whole thing is my fault." Billy mumbled.
"I told you not to get out." Lila huffed.
Soon, Eleven was ripping the cover from her eyes, panting frantically. "It's close. She knows where we are."
"It wants Lila."
Suddenly, thumps could be heard from outside. Namcy walked towards the window, gasping at the sight. The mindflayer was here and it was getting closer.
"Block all the exits!" She shouted.
The kids moved things around as Nancy and Jonathan ran to the shed. They came back with a axe, bats and a shot gun.
"You owe us." Max snarled at Billy as she tossed him a bat.
"Right." He huffed gripping the bat tightly.
Lila stood behind Billy, tears brimming her eyes. It wanted her. Which meant Lila was more powerful than Eleven.
"Lila." Billy whispered.
"What?" She gulped.
"I love you."
An arm of the mindflayer broke through the wall, opening it's mouth widely. Lila's eyes widened as she grabbed Billy's arm.
"Holy." Lucas spoke.
"Shit!" Mike yelled as the arm lunged at Nancy's.
She cocked the shotgun, not missing one shot. But the arm was too strong. Once she was out of bullets, it pinned her against the wall, inches from her face.
"Do something!" Jonathan shouted.
Lila closed her eyes before snapping her head to the side. The arm burst into pieces. Nancy gasped before quickly loading the shotgun.
Two more arms flew in. Eleven stood between them, holding them in place. She let out a scream before the mouths of the arms were ripped off.
"What the fuck!" Billy shouted stepping backwards.
Another arm cane through the ceiling, grabbing Eleven by her leg. Billy jumped, grabbing Eleven's arm.
He whipped his head around before screaming. "Pull her in!"
The kids formed a line, pulling against the monster. Yelling at Lila to do something.
She breathed heavily before holding her hands out towards the monster. The monster leaned in closer inches from Lila, his grip on Eleven's leg still tight.
Lila let out an ear piercing scream before swinging her arms apart. The monster ripped nearly completely in half before Lila and El collapsed to the floor.
The last thing Lila saw was Billy kneeling infront of her.
