Chapter 19: 19.Two Friends In Need
-Earth 38/National City-
Erick and Kara sat on a bench in the middle of the park as laughter and sounds of cheering could be heard as Erick takes a bite of his pretzel as Kara sees Erick just look on and stay absolutely quiet as she nudges his shoulder as he turns to face her
Kara:Are you okay?
She asked worryingly as she laid her hand on top of his giving it a small yet gentle squeeze
"Yeah..yeah im fine *chuckles* they don't have parks in the future so this is nice to see"
He tries to play it off jokingly but Kara sees through it as she scoots a bit closer to him
Kara:Hey..look at me..
Erick closes his eyes and takes a deep breath as he sets his pretzel aside as he looks at her..
Kara:Whatever you need to talk about im here for you..im not going anywhere..
Erick doesn't say anything at first as she rubs his knuckles with her fingers
"I didn't really have a childhood..I didn't get to go outside and play like any other kid or be tucked into bed and them telling me goodnight or that they loved me.."
Erick fights back the tears trying to fall through as he moves his hand away from Kara
"All I ever got was the cold ground to sleep on and barely enough food to even walk sometimes, and I know that you've been through alot Kara..but this--this is something much more different; one of the serums I was injected with--it--it..I can't have kids..I won't be able to have a family, my Dad he used a small strand of Doomsday's DNA and made it that way..and seeing this makes even wonder if I'll get to even have a future"
A single tear falls from his face as it falls and touches the ground as Erick clenches his fists..that damn bastard wanted him to suffer..even when he's not with him..he can still hear his damn voice in his head..lurking and waiting for him to break down so he can strike
Kara:Erick..you'll find a way, I know you will..you can't--
"And how the hell do you know that!?"
Kara jumps back a bit from his sudden outburst as Erick's eyes spark with red and black lightning, as Erick soon realizes what he's done..his eyes change back to their normal color
"I'm sorry Kara--I didn't mean to yell at you..I just--I have tried to get rid of that serum inside of me, every test, every possible probability, and still I haven't even gotten close to stopping it.."
Erick feels his hands tremble as Kara reaches out and grabs them as it calms him down a bit
"I don't want to be remembered as the son of a villain when I die..I don't want that, Kara. I want to find someone who will accept me for being me, I want to wake up everyday next to her and be grateful that she chosen to be with me, I want to hold her hand and just with her..that's what I want.."
Kara feels the lightning brush against her skin as she feels it tingle through her hand..Erick wasn't broken he was just afraid..afraid of what he was leaving behind

Meanwhile on the other side of National City, now dressed in some normal clothes both Jesse and Morgan wander the streets as Jesse can feel them getting closer to Erick
Morgan:So exactly do you know where Erick is? You didn't put a tracker on him did you?
Jesse:What? No! I don't really know how to explain it Morgan..it's just a feeling..
Morgan wasn't one for skepticism but this did seem like it, she trusted Jesse that was a fact but surely there had be some kind of explanation to this..
Morgan:Can you feel what he feels?
Jesse:No, not really well sometimes but I just sense when he's nearby..I don't know Morgan, it all started when he left ive been getting this feeling..this connection
Morgan:Connection..maybe it's because your both speedsters? Aren't you two connected to the speedforce?
Jesse:We are but he's connected to the negative speedforce, it's different from the one me and Barry are connected too..
Morgan could see that she was stressing her friend out as she decided to stop pushing the subject on her, she really did care about Jesse and the last thing she wanted was to stress her beyond belief
Morgan:Okay..well uhh let's just try and find Erick and ask him for his help
Jesse:But we don't know if he'll even say yes!
Morgan:Maybe, maybe not but I trust him..he's a good guy and I know he'll do the right thing
Jesse:I hope your right about this because this threat is just something else..not even Karen could stop it and she's a super-powered alien
Morgan:Well lucky we'll have the help of an experienced speedster
Jesse raises any eyebrow a bit offended by this
Jesse:Hey! I'm experienced!
Morgan just rolls her eyes as she gestures for Jesse to lead the way to Erick

Kara had been called by her sister so she unfortunately had to leave by himself, he knew that if he tried to help they'd see him as a threat even with Kara's alibi. Plus him being called 'Red Death' doesn't really read friendly so for now he had to stay behind
Erick lays on the couch with his arms over his head as he groans in frustration; mainly because he's bored..he's gotten so used to the action he hasn't had any time to take things slow in a while..but with Kara he was able to, she was nice to him..maybe too nice..
His train of thought is cut short as he hears some knocking on the front door of the apartment as Erick gets up to answer it, he suddenly feels his hand spark with lightning as he looks down at it and then back at the door..
'(What the hell?..)'
The lightning crackles around his entire arm as he can sense something..no someone..
Erick slowly walks to the door as he opens the door as his hand stops sparking with lightning as it reverts back to normal
"Jesse..Morgan..uh hi?"
Morgan awkwardly waves at Erick as he waves back at her as he turns his attention to Jesse who is just staring at him..almost entranced by him..
Morgan looks between them both as she waves her hand in front of best friend as she snaps out of the trance
Jesse:W-what happened?
Morgan:I'm not really sure..*looks at Erick* hey can we uh talk?
Erick moves aside as he let's them into the apartment and closes the door behind him
Morgan:Okay first things first..
Before Erick can even react Morgan pulls him into a hug as he smiles and rubs her back with his other hand
Morgan:It's really good to see you again
"It's good to see you too, Morgan.."
She pulls away from him as Erick looks at Jesse
"What? Your not going to hug me to?"
Jesse just laughs as she hugs Erick aswell but a bit too tightly as he wraps both of his arms around her
Jesse:Has anyone ever told you, you give really nice hugs?
"No not really your actually the first person to say that"
Morgan visibly twitches as a full minute goes by as she practically has to pull her away from Erick as she stands next to her
Morgan:Sorry about..she's just really missed you but then again I did too..
"It's okay you don't have to apologize I actually missed you guys too, so what brings you guys to Earth 38?"
Their happy faces soon turn into one's of worry as Erick immediately takes notice of this
"Hey what is it? What's wrong?.."
Jesse rubs her shoulders as Morgan let's out a shaky breath
Jesse:We need your help..
Erick crosses her arms and sees this reunion has just gotten serious as he tells them
"I'm listening.."
