Chapter 28: Chapter 28 Valarissa's decision

The older maid hurriedly left the chamber, ensuring to inform the guard outside to keep a watchful eye on Valarissa. Afterwards which, she rushed to prepare hot water for the Valarissa.

Valarissa sat there with a gloomy expression as she glanced at the system's sign-in icon.

Her discontent wasn't due to receiving a garbage rewards, but rather because she had forgotten to sign in the previous day misssing a reward.

Since her first reward, she had only received three useful items during these sign-in periods. Two of them were recipe scrolls featuring formulas for cement and wine. The last one granted her the talent 'fearless one.' The rarity of good rewards was evident, with extraordinary ones being even rarer among the rare.

However, she acknowledged that not all so-called garbage rewards were useless, as they included wooden training weapons, training dummies, and various foods like cake, chocolate, and fried chicken, providing a pleasant break for her taste buds.

Setting aside the unpleasantness of missing out on a potential good reward, Valarissa decided to proceed with signing in for the day.

"Sign-in," she declared, and the notification quickly followed.

Upon hearing the notification, she felt a stroke of luck, as the rewards turned out to be highly practical and valuable for the current era.

(Ding!, Congratulations, you have gained a Complete Armament set × 300)

Without hesitation, she swiftly stowed the entire armament set inside the jade space warehouse as it materialized.

With a wide grin displaying all her teeth, she eagerly examined the reward description.

••

Armament Set

: A complete armament set consisting of armor, including chain mail, plate armor, and helmets for protection, a circular shield for ease of maneuverability and versatile defense, a parrying spear with a shorter blade for quick thrusts and precise control, suitable for close combat situations, a dagger, and an arming sword.

>All items, except the sword, are made from high-quality 1060 medium-carbon steel, and the swords are made from Tungsten.

••

Examining the description and pictures, Valarissa felt a strong desire to wear the armament set herself. However, reality struck when she realized the size wouldn't allow her to use them personally. Nonetheless, having acquired a set of 300 armaments set, a new realm of possibilities opened up for her.

In a world where people are born with extraordinary strength and skill to fight, gathering quality individuals is relatively easy due to the abundance of bastards from famous families and strong knights. Equipping them, however, had always been a challenge - a problem she no longer faced.

While was nothing compared to the old Valyrian steel Swords, Armor or other armament. The armament set surpassed the standards of this era in terms of aesthetics, quality, and practicality.

While grinning like a fool, the guard informed her about the maester's arrival. The door opened, and both her uncle and the maester entered the room, sharing the same astonished expression, with the maester expressing it more intensely both in his face and voice.

"Oh God! How can this be? This is a miracle!" The maester exclaimed, approaching Valarissa and examining her like a mad scientist inspecting a rare specimen.

"Ahm! How is her condition?" Deamon stepped forward, halting the excited maester who was examining Valarissa.

"Prince Daemon, this is a miracle. I don't know how, but all the broken bones, muscle contusions, skin injuries, and other ailments have completely healed. Other than the burn marks and scar on the left leg, the Princess is completely healthy," the maester explained with excitement.

Valarissa stood up and glanced at the maester. "Maester, you don't have to be so surprised. I'm a Targaryen with true dragon blood."

Deamon remained silent, observing Valarissa, while the maester looked at her as if she were a fool. "Princess, I have been a maester for 80 years and have seen and treated many Targaryens, but none have shown such miraculous healing ability," the maester expressed to Valarissa.

"Maybe you haven't seen it, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I'm sure you're aware that Targaryens are immune to many diseases and plagues, and some have the ability to be resistant to fire. So, why can't there be a Targaryen who could heal faster?" Valarissa confidently spoke, with her eye opena and a sincere expression.

The maester, though not entirely convinced, acknowledged the mystical and unexplainable abilities often associated with Targaryens and some ancient families. Throughout history, records had documented incidents such as dragon control, the dragon dream (an open secret), and the presence of magicians across the sea.

While still unconvinced, the maester chose not to further pursue the matter, recognizing Valarissa's explanation as a convenient excuse. "I will excuse myself, Prince Daemon," the maester said, leaving Deamon and Valarissa alone.

Valarissa looked at Daemon, who looked at her with a curious expression. "Care to explain, my little niece? The maester may fool himself to believe you, but I will not," Daemon said seriously.

She knew she couldn't hide from her uncle, as his curiosity had reached its peak due to her extraordinary abilities and martial arts skills displayed over time. Finally, after some contemplation, she decided to expose the jade space to her uncle. This decision was made for her own convenience and her upcoming plan for reforms in King's Landing.

Soon, she would need to transport a large amount of grains and other food items to King's Landing. To avoid suspicion and potential negative conjectures, she couldn't just take them openly. Hence, she planned to make her uncle her partner, utilizing the system's ability to mark a location and arranging for Daemon to transfer the goods to her in King's Landing through ships, making it appear as if she brought them from outside.

"Do you really want to know?" Valarissa asked.

"Well, I'm very curious," Daemon replied with a chuckle.

"Don't resist, just stay calm," Valarissa instructed as she held Daemon's hand. Instead of taking him into the jade space, she activated her Branding skill, not because she didn't trust him, but to ensure the secrecy of her plan.

Immediately, Daemon felt a burning sensation, and the Targaryen house Sigma appeared on his chest before disappearing.

"What was that?" Daemon asked.

"It's a contract so that you can't reveal this secret to others," Valarissa replied, being truthful. She had branded Daemon, not enslaved him, just to safeguard her secret. It was the only term for now.

"What secret?" Daemon asked with doubt.

"This one," Valarissa replied as the surroundings changed, and the space twisted, causing Daemon and Valarissa to disappear from the room.
