Chapter 3: The Fiction Summoner: Chapter 3

Alex tried to ignore the note when he started thinking.

He first noticed how this person charges this item more than the [Shop], which is completely ridiculous.

In the [Shop] you can only buy items and not sell items. The [Shop] has a fixed price for all items and countless items to choose from. It is very safe to buy something there. Mainly because only "human-friendly" products are sold there.

Why should you buy this building for 10 gold more when you can just buy it in the shop? It even says it right below it and you have to be incredibly stupid to miss it.

Apart from the fact that this unit is complete rubbish.

This unit is weaker than Alex and the building next to it cannot be upgraded, making it impossible to summon a stronger unit later.

Alex doesn't look at any more items in the [Auction house] and he opens the [Shop].

When he noticed that the Shop shows two sections in this shop.

[Shop]

[Fiction Discount Shop]

He immediately understood that because of his skill he has the opportunity to enter the [Fiction discount shop]. Also, because all Epic Skills are unique, only he had that opportunity.

Alex then opened [Fiction discount shop] and saw 100 different items on sale.

He looked at the first item with a slight shock.

-----

[Hammer of the Thunder God Thor: Mjolnir]

[Type: Weapon]

[Rating: Epic]

[Attribute requirements: ???] (For Epic items or above, the skills and attribute requirements are not shown. You can only see them when you buy them.)

[Skills: ???]

[Shop price: 500 million gold]

[Price: 250 million gold]

[Introduction: Mjolnir is a powerful enchanted war-hammer forged by the Dwarves for the Asgardian Royal Family, and was used by Odin before he passed it down to Hela and then Thor. The hammer was used extensively by Thor as his primary weapon until it was destroyed by Hela. ???]

[Quantity: 1]

-----

Alex looked at the 250 million gold for a moment.

'Please tell me there are at least some useful items here that I can buy.'

Alex looked at the next item and he was speechless again.

-----

[Straw Hat]

[Type: Armor]

[Rating: F-]

[Attribute requirements: None]

[Skills: None]

[Shop price: 1 Gold]

[Price: 1 Gold]

[Introduction: A straw hat can refer to any brimmed hat that is woven out of straw. This straw hat is particularly famous, having been worn by Gol D. Roger and Shanks. It is now worn by Monkey D. Luffy, giving him his epithet "Straw Hat Luffy". ]

[Note: It doesn't really protect you, but it doesn't look bad.]

[Quantity: 1]

-----

'Great, I can at least look good when I die. I'm definitely not buying this. It doesn't even lower the original price. ...'

Alex now just hoped that 1 or 2 of these 100 items weren't useless or too expensive. He greatly lowers his expectations.

[AN: I'll use an abbreviation for most items and no, I certainly won't show all 100 items.]

[A- Rating equipment - Shield: Herald of Zakarum, the original price is 3,5 million, the current price is 35,000...] (Diablo)

[C Rating Spell Scroll- Summon Undead: Death Knight, the original price is 50,000, the current price is 5,000...] (Overlord)

[C+ Skill Scroll- Imperius Curse, the original price is 40,000, the current price is 20,000...] (Harry Potter)

When Alex looked at the options and he noticed that only items from works that he had personally seen or read were on this list.

He didn't know if that was an advantage or a disadvantage.

'Had I known that I would have watched more works with ridiculously Strong Characters. Although... wouldn't that make it foolproof in the end that I only get items that are too expensive? '

Alex also noticed another thing as he looked at more items.

Each discount is divided into 5 different price reductions.

50, 20, 10, 1, 0.1 (Only pay 0.1% Gold out of 100%).

He also now understood why his skill had the words "relatively random" in its description.

It also seemed that not all 5 different price reductions have the same chance of hitting an item.

Alex has already looked at more than 50 items and has not yet seen a [0.1] price reduction.

[1] and [10] were the most. [50] and [20] were relatively rare but Alex saw a few items with these price reductions.

Alex had to admit that his skill really is worth his high rating. Although this skill isn't particularly useful in the beginning.

After 50 items he would rather have another epic skill.

With a strong attack skill, Alex could start snowballing quickly by killing strong monsters to get a lot of experience, gold, and resources. Especially with an Epic attack skill.

Alex has played a lot of games and he understood how useful it is to have a strong start in games with an [Auction house]. Although this isn't a game, it was close enough to make this comparison.

his skill also had great advantages, but it is not really good at the beginning of this "game".

Alex looked at the next item and he started showing finally a happy expression.

-----

[B- Rating Hero: Gandalf the Grey]

[Shop price: 800,000 Gold]

[Price: 800 Gold]

[Name: Gandalf the Grey]

[Rating: B-]

[Potential: B]

[Race: Istar]

[Level: 1 (0/100)]

[Loyalty: 60/100 (loyal)]

[Combat Strength Rating: [C-]

[Strength: D+]

[Physical: B-]

[Agility: E]

[Spirit: B+]

[Skill: Basic Invulnerability (C+), Mind Magic (D+), Telekinesis (D+), Basic Element Magic (D-), Basic Sword Mastery (E) ]

[Equipment: None]

[Introduction: Gandalf the Grey was an Istar (Wizard), dispatched to Middle-earth in the Third Age to combat the threat of Sauron. Gandalf was one of the wisest and most knowledgeable beings in Middle-earth, believed by Galadriel to be more worthy than Saruman in leading the White Council, though he was less mighty in magic. At a specific level, he will become Gandalf the White.]

[Note: Don't expect him to come back to life if he dies here.]

[Quantity: 1]

------

Alex couldn't believe his eyes at first but after a few seconds, he realized that this has really occurred.

He was so happy that the [0,1] price reduction came down to an item he can buy.

Even though he didn't have yet 800 gold, Alex would do almost anything to raise that amount.

Hero units are particularly strong Summons that usually have better/more skills and Potential than normal Summons. ( Normal Summons = Summons that can be summoned from a building for gold. For example, [Small Dog])

Even if [Gandalf the Gray] is not particularly strong in combat compared to other B-rated heroes, he still had very good Potential and has a lot of different skills. Also, his high rating already indicates the strength of Gandalf the White.

And especially on the first day, Alex can enter the forest relatively safely with [Gandalf the Gray].

When Alex looked at [Gandalf the Gray]'s skills, he particularly looked at [Basic Invulnerability]

-----

[Basic Invulnerability]

[Rating: C+]

[Introduction: A passive skill that allows the owner to withstand all attacks below a D+ rating from Skills, Strength(attribute), and Weapons without taking damage. This skill does not work on combined attacks of Skills, Strength(attribute), and Weapons with an under D+ rating that does more damage than a D rating attack. ] (one often sees signs on the [Combat Strength Rating] if that's the case.)

-----

Alex is a bit impressed that this skill allows you to ignore all attacks from D or below.

Although this skill can also be bypassed by having a high [Combat Strength Rating], Alex didn't think it was really a huge drawback.

But after reading this Skill he better understood why [Gandalf the Gray] got such a bad [Combat Strength Rating] for a B-Hero.

Of course, he's also not that powerful without his Sword or Wizard's staff.

Alex looked at the next items and then again found an item that wasn't completely useless or expensive.
