Chapter 30: A 100% Grade?
"I see, then congratulations on getting a 90, Chitose! I'm sure you earned it!" Liao Xi congratulated Chitose as she was now happy and was secretly nervous now that she knew that getting a high Grade was much more difficult than she initially thought. But now that she knows it was actually much harder than she thought, she couldn't help but feel anxious that she might fail, and with all of this thought in her head, she didn't realize that Mio was already calling out to her. She was only awoken from her thought when she was tapped by someone on the shoulder and whe she looked at the person in front of her, her body involuntarily shrank.
A.N Starting now, I'm going to type Liao Xi's name as Xian'er as it is her nickname given by Sana.
"Hey, are you okay, Xian'er? Teacher Mio has been calling for you and you're not answering her?" Because the person was quite tall, she had to bend over slightly which only shorten the gap that she made and when her face was only inches away from her, Xian'er face begins to turn beet red. She felt her whole face becoming hot as she backed away more and she couldn't help but stutter as she explained.
"I… I'm alright! I just dozed off for a second. I'm fine, Sa- Sana!" Xian'er timid voice was almost understandable because of how quiet it was and if they were not ordinary Humans, they wouldn't be able to hear her voice well.
"Are you sure? Your face is red, you don't have any fever right?" Sana shortened their gap once more as she got closer to Xian'er and held her forehead to check her temperature she felt that she didn't have any fever which made her confused as to why her face was red when she wasn't even sick.
"Hey, if you two are going to continue in my Class. I will kick both of you out." Mio reminded them as they were finally awoken in their little world and when Sana finally realized what she was doing, she can't help but also felt embarrassed as she quickly backed away and apologized for her actions, and got back to the end of the line with her head lowered but everyone can see that she was embarrassed by her actions which made everyone chuckle.
Xian'er and Sana are friends and their friendship started ever since they were born. The Liao Clan and Hiroshima Clan have been friends since they were established, the two ancestors were brothers for life as they treated each other like a real brother, and from this started a long relationship between the two Major Clan. That is why Xian'er and Sana are friends and to say that their relationship was deep is quite an understatement because Xian'er actually has unrequited feelings for Sana but not because she was rejected by her, she just didn't have any courage to come out, and openly confess.
She doesn't have any courage to openly say that she loves Sana as a Woman not just a childhood friend. So that's why she tries to make it obvious by some of her actions but all of it was fruitless because Sana remained oblivious to all of them and only thought that she was acting spoiled around her since they know each other for more than a decade already.
"I'm sorry, teacher Mio. I became nervous when the Test that I thought was pretty easy is actually harder than I thought. Please forgive me, I didn't mean to ignore you." Xian'er tried to compose herself, but she couldn't fully hide her embarrassment, and when she heard Mio chuckle it only got worse as she only felt like hiding in the nearest hole she can find.
"Alright, I'll let this matter slide for now. Now, you should focus on your Test, because if you fail you will have to try again." Mio sighed as she pointed to the Magic Circle whose fire was already burned out since it already consumed all of the Mana that Chitose has stored inside of it. And when Xian'er heard that Mio was not displeased with her actions she sighed in relief before taking a deep breath and finally coming closer to the Magic Circle, and without wasting any more time she slammed her hand on the Circle and begins to activate all of the runes.
"Wow… As expected of the Class President. In just a matter of seconds, she has already activated half of the Runes in the Magic Circle." Fen Xiu muttered as her eyes sparkles while she stares at Xian'er with clear admiration in her eyes. She was not going to lie that she was envious of her talent, but even so. It was not enough of a reason for her to do bad things that can hurt Xian'er, moreover, she trust and respects her because of her immense talent in Magic.
"Ohhh, this is getting interesting now," Mio muttered as she stares at Xian'er with interest in her eyes, she would have never expected that someone in the Class could activate half of the runes all at once. Soon after, her smile turns cold as she continues to watch a good show that's about to happen.
As expected, it didn't take long for Xian'er to finally make Fire from the Magic Circle but it was different from the Fire that Chitose made, her Fire was burning orange in color as Chitose's was burning in a bright blue color. But even so, the sight of a Fire burning was still a good sign for all of them, Xian'er classmate even begins to predict what grade she would get.
"I'm sure that Xian'er would get an at least 95%. Her speed was so fast and she was precise in her every action that it was almost perfect." Jun-Seo begins to whisper around him and naturally, it was heard by everyone so they too begin to speculate about Xian'er grade. Some even thought that she should get a 100% because of how well she did, but it was still up to Mio to give her grade without wasting any more time, They finally asked Mio after the Fire has completely burned out.
"Your grade is…"
