Chapter 37: A Royal Flush

"Hmmm..."

For the first time in a few nerve-wracking minutes, a devilish grin slowly framed Maximus's face. He ordered a glass of vodka and slowly sipped it while inwardly plotting Ryker's early demise.

At this point, Ryker was sweating profusely. He was forced to bring down his trembling hands to his side. He had expected that the strong gin would calm his skyrocketing nerves but it seemed to have made it worse.

"This one is for you, Ryker Grant. Thanks for giving me a pleasurable evening." Phoenix slurred her words as she made the big reveal of her last card.

"Ace of Diamonds! It's a Royal flush! Miss Anna Kruger win the game and the bet." The card dealer almost passed out from sheer euphoria.

"Did he say, a royal flush?" Some of the anxious guests asked in disbelief.

"Yah!" Another replied incredulously.

"How!" A third person in the room screamed out in shock.

"No f**king way!" Another intrigued player exclaimed.
