Chapter 2: How I Met Her 2
Li-li woke up in someone's room, naked and flooded with warmth. She turned her head and saw Hao, cuddling her. She yelped and sat up.
"What have I done?" She sobbed. She shouldn't have gone to his house at night. "Hao-Hao, how could you do this to me? I trusted you, gave you my heart and you do this?"
"Li-li, please listen," He pleaded.
"I am not listening. I warned you about this, told you that I was afraid it would happen. It's my fault from entering a man's house at night." She sulked.
"Li-li, do you love me?" He asked.
"You don't get to ask me." She cleaned her face.
"Do you love me?" He asked again.
"I do." She hugged him.
"Then, what we did does not matter."
A few days later, he received a letter from her parents stating that she had moved out and he shouldn't find her. No one knows what happened between them but, he fell seriously ill and only then, did she reappear.
"Li-li, I am sorry what I did that night." He said when they were alone. "If that is why you are avoiding me, forgive me."
"I forgive you for that day but there is something I have to tell you."
"I also have something to tell you." Hao said, attempting to sit up.
"Lay down and do tell me." She stroked his hair.
"I am the Spirit Emperor, Jia-Hao Xiang." He saw shock crawl onto her face.
"You didn't tell me."
"I couldn't tell anyone. Please, don't hate me for what I have done." He begged.
She dropped the vase in her hand and it shattered to pieces. The noise caused the neighbours to rush into the house but she ran out ignoring all his pleas.
She dedicated her time to her baby and no one knew where she went. Hao looked for her but she was nowhere to be found. And there she was, three years later, with a child that was his.
However, he believed her what she told him and still loved her, even after being apart for three and a half years. She was all that he had, including his new baby girl, Mei-Ling Xiang.
