Rain drizzled lightly as Sierra and Jackson strolled to Thorn Mansion. He gently squeezed her hand and slowed his pace. Jackson leaned in close, wanting to be sure he heard her correctly.

"Are you telling me you saw Pierce leaving Dante's estate a short while ago?"

"I did. As he made his way out of the gates, The Duke was astride a stunning Andalusian. There is no doubt in my mind as to who I saw traveling down the road."

"It is essential for us to find Christopher tonight. This is not the best news to receive, and it is quite unexpected."

Jackson noticed Sierra wrapping her free arm around herself in an attempt to stay warm in the rainy, frigid night air. He removed his jacket, wrapping it over her shoulders and dragging her body closer to him. He would share his body heat as they made their way to the servant's entrance of the manor.
