Chapter 31: I Don't Want To Hear It
<Pearl pov>
"What do you mean he lied? What did he lie about?" I asked as I stared at Arthur with a serious expression.
"David didn't lose his memories. It was all fake." Arthur said.
"You mean he's been lying this whole time? And you knew?" I said as I stared at him with an angry look.
He didn't answer.
Just then the door opened and someone walked in.
I looked back with a glare at David who just stood there frozen in shock.
"Pearl, I-" David started speaking when I cut across him.
"What? What are you gonna explain?" I asked.
"I-" He started again.
"No, I don't want to hear it." I said and stood up.
I picked up my bag from the table and walked out of the room.
"Pearl, wait-!" David said as I got onto the elevator.
Before he could say another word, the door closed and the lift started moving downwards.
I left the building and headed to work.

I sat at my table with a lost look on my face as I tried to make sense of what had happened this morning.
There was a knock on the door a small bit later.
"Come in." I said.
The door opened and June walked in followed by someone.
"Hey, here's your coffee. And also the new trainee." June said as she put my coffee down on the table and pointed at him.
"Alright, you can go now." I said picking up the coffee and taking a sip.
"Bye." June said as she walked out of the room.
"So, hello, I'm Pearl Myers, hope to be working with you in the future." I said as I put my coffee down on the table and looked at him. "You can sit down."
"Hi, I'm Richard Brown." He said as he sat down.
"Let's start small. Look over all of these files and give me a detailed observation on them in a couple of hours." I said as I picked up three to four files and handed them to him.
We both sat and did our work silently.
By the end of the day, I was quite tired.
Getting off work, I drove back to the mansion.
Stepping inside, I went upstairs to the room, washed up, had dinner and then went to bed.
