Chapter 17: Across the Line
Holly Adams POV:
TWO WEEKS LATER
“And this is the grand ballroom,” Raf announced proudly as he threw the heavy wooden doors open.
I whistled softly as I followed him inside. ‘Grand’ was certainly a word to describe the space we were in, but at the same time, it might have been underselling. The room was massive with a black and white patterned tile floor. Ornately carved pillars supported the ceiling, and silken drapes covered the windows.
Cinderella and Prince Charming would have fit right in.
I had taken Raf up on his offer to have him show me his businesses, and so far, everything looked like it could fit into a nest of criminal activity. The list of Raf’s businesses included bars that ranged from seedy to high-end clubs, a collection of restaurants plus warehouses where fresh product was kept, a shipping company, a private security company, and the hotel he was showing me now.
