But Jasmine who knows nothing of Goldie's growing panic keeps talking oh so cheerfully.

"... And I am sure that Ryan was probably the one who sent Leroy searching for you. Plus, Leroy said his 'friend' had an interest in you. 

What other 'friend'? It's definitely Ryan.

Girl, you got Ryan interested in you!", responds Jasmine.

"What? No way… that's impossible.", Goldie responds, totally unconvinced.

'How could Ryan like me?'

Goldie could not believe it at all. As far as she was concerned, it was impossible for the Amazing Ryan Muller to suddenly 'like' her.

It was just not possible for that to be the case. Rather than liking her, Goldie was sure Ryan thought she was a weirdo, mostly because of the weird looks he was giving her all through the day.

And why not? She had screeched like a bird right in his face.
