Aurora made sure to sit in the forest for a while so the injury on her arm would heal before walking back to the house with a dampened mood. She had ruined everything else with her loud mouth.
She grabbed her arm with a frown on her face. She should be angered by the fact that he hurt her, shouldn't she? But she wasn't angry because she knew he was hurting himself while hurting her and she was more worried about him than herself.
She let out a groan as she ran her fingers through her hair. Was this how it felt to like someone? Caring about the person more than oneself? Even though he was ten times stronger than her?
She shook off the thought as she neared the house. A feeling suddenly overwhelmed her as she walked closer to the door. Why was she having this eerie feeling?
As she opened the door and walked in, she heaved a sigh of relief when she didn't see anyone in the living room and immediately ran to her room.
She shrieked when she got to her room and found Her parents there with stern looks on their faces.
"Mother? Father" She called out then bowed her head as she bit her lip. She had been caught red handed, how was she going to escape this?
"Do you deprive Joy in making us angry, Aurora?" Nikolas asked calmly as he walked towards her.
She took slow steps backwards with her eyes screw shut. She knew her father would never hit or hurt her, at least not on purpose but she was terrified of him when he spoke calmly towards her.
"I'm sorry, I just… I just want to know why he was ignoring me and… I'm sorry" Nikolas tilted his head at her words then scoffed in disbelief.
"If he's ignoring you, isn't that good news?!" He suddenly yelled and fear shook Aurora's bones.
Roseline immediately ran up to Nikolas and grabbed his arm to calm him down but she was also angry at Aurora.
"What has he done to you to make you so attached? At the end of the day even if we let him go, he's not going to remember and would probably kill you along with all of us so why? Why are you so attached to him?" Roseline questioned with a frown. She hoped what she was thinking wasn't true. She hoped she was just mistaken but the look in Aurora's eyes told her that she wasn't. Her worst nightmare had come true.
"You… Do you like him?" Nikolas' eyes widened as he glanced at Roseline as soon as she said that then he turned to Aurora.
"What? Tell me your mother is mistaking" But Aurora just shrunk further into her shell and avoided eye contact with them.
"Fucking tell me your mother is mistaking right now!" Nikolas yelled with his eyes blazing with anger.
Tears trickled Down Aurora's cheek as she wrung her fingers.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. I tried to fight it but…" Nikolas shook Roseline's hand off him then walked towards Aurora and grabbed her shoulders.
"How can you like a Demigod? You're seventeen for crying out loud!" Aurora cried loudly as her father continued shaking her.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't help it! I'm sorry!" She could feel tears coming out of every hoke on her face and she knew how ugly she looked at that moment but that didn't matter. The disappointment and frustration in her father's eyes was what mattered.
"I won't let my seventeen year old daughter be in love with a Demigod, Aurora. So you better find a way to get rid of those foolish feelings of yours or I'm going to do something I might regret in the future" After saying that, Nikolas stormed out of the room, banging the door behind him.
Aurora turned to her mother who also had tears in her eyes but before Aurora could say anything, Roseline ran out of the room and Aurora immediately crashed to the ground and cried her eyes out. Why was her life so difficult? Why did she keep disappointing her parents? She was tired, tired of hurting everyone. She was tired of this life, she was so tired. When was it all going to end?
She fell on the ground, hugging herself as she cried. She saw something in her father's eyes shift and she knew, she just knew things were about to change after today.

The next day, Aurora didn't dare leave her room. She couldn't bear to face anyone and see the look in their eyes when they stared at her.
She tried reaching out to Xavier but he was also ignoring her. Maybe she had disappointed him for liking him? Maybe he was so repulsed by the fact that she liked him.
Tears streamed down her face as she thought about it. Her life seemed so meaningless now. If her parents ignored her and Xavier ignored her, she had no one else. She was all alone now, a feeling she dreaded the most.
The next few days, she still refused to leave her room and all the food that was passed under her room door, they began to rot at the side. She didn't dare leave her bed and just kept staring at the wall.
She knew she was reaching her limit and won't be able to survive this night without food and that was what she wanted. She was tired so why not just end it all?
Her eyes slowly turned towards the wooden stake beside her mirror and without thinking she walked towards and grabbed it. She stared at it for a while then pricked her finger slightly with it.
It did hurt but it distracted her from the pain she was feeling emotionally and it was a much more bearable pain.
She glanced at herself in the mirror and sliced her arm. She winced but found the pain somewhat… nice.
She sliced her thighs, her other arm, her collar bone, anywhere she could get her hands on and yet the emotional pain was still more painful. Should she just end it all then?
She teased the stake just right above her heart then pulled back her hand and about to stab herself when a pair of strong hands appeared behind her and grabbed her hand.
"What do you think you're doing?!" His deep angry voice echoed throughout the room. His warmth immediately enveloped but that still wasn't enough to pull her out of the depressive state she had put herself in.
"Let me go! I'm going to end it all! Just let me go!" She screamed as tears streamed down her face. Before Xavier could say anything, she succumbed to the darkness and laid unconscious in his arms…
