Chapter 82: Chapter 82 - Striking

Standing before the locked iron door, Lily examined it with a keen eye— noting the lack of any camera that would give it away.

Despite its sturdy appearance, she knew she had the means to bypass it with relative ease. Her newfound abilities, combined with her previous ones— provided her with a wide range of tools she could use for the task.

However, the most useful ability for this situation would be Lily's superhuman strength; after all, she didn't care to be secretive about her break-in; they knew she was coming already.

Standing in front of the door, she firmly locked her foot in place, and with the slow, steady motion of bringing her palm backward— she launched it forward without hesitation.

Her action was swift— but powerful.

Her open palm made contact with the door, and her strength rippled forth— it had to be said that Lily's strength was anything but weak. With her current capabilities, lifting and even throwing a car would be possible; as such, breaking the doors off its hinges was nothing.

And break it did— the door buckled from the impact and was sent flying backward with a loud thud— a groan following after.

The impact of her palm hitting the door had not only broken the door right off its hinges but had also sent it flying backward somewhat— causing the doorman behind it to be concaved with the impact.

The man was in immense pain from the unexpected attack, evident by the fact that he was constantly groaning and yelling for help— unable to get the metal door off his injured body.

Even without the yelling of the man, the people within the basement would be alerted of her arrival; after all, the door was not silent with its opening.

But she preferred a head-on fight— it gave her a chance to finally show off a little, testing her capabilities and getting accustomed to them better.

So far, she had only fought calculated battles— and while this one was still within her calculations— it could be said to be the first time she went in without getting the jump on them first.

Lily strode confidently through the now-open entrance, stepping upon the iron door that held the under it— causing his pain to increase even more.

But she wasn't cruel enough to leave him under there to suffer, so with one forceful stomp— she shattered the man's head— killing him in the process.

Her eyes quickly flew over the startled group that stood before her— having gathered to find out what the sound was and had gathered into defensive positions.

Mutants and humans alike exchanged uneasy glances at each other, realizing that they were being invaded just like the other base had been— that too by one single girl.

The room was deadly silent— one could hear the drop of a pin at any moment— the flicking fluorescent lights that dimly lit the damp room provided a unique addition to the tension.

The group didn't want to make the first move out of caution, but Lily hadn't made the first move yet out of curiosity.

Her eyes scanned the figures before her, a mixture of mutants and humans— some of the mutants were very obvious due to their unnatural appearance.

One possessed horns, while another possessed a long tail, and one had skin similar to glass— but that was just a few she could outright spot.

This group was much smarter than the other one as they opted to rid themselves of their guns for this encounter and instead use melee weapons— wielding large blades and such.

Lily stepped forward without any fear— in fact, she was filled with anticipation to actually fight them head-on. As she did— the group held their ground, and their leader actually stepped forward.

A relatively tall, slim female with a scar running along the side of her face and down her neck— a lightning bolt shape. Her body rippled with electricity from her fingertips to her hair— as she openly used her power.

She held no fear in her face; in fact, she stood tall and proud, the added theatrics of her electricity giving her quite the presence amongst the group.

Maybe even boosting their morale.

"Who are you, and how dare you intrude upon our place?"

The lady declared with a loud and stern voice— her voice booming with the amplified effect of her electricity coursing through her body.

Their eyes locked as they spoke— Lily was actually taller than the woman, who added to her domineering appearance— given that she was covered in blood, it wasn't hard.

"Don't ask a foolish question you already know the answer to."

Lily replied without care, a small smile decorating her lips as she said it, taunting the lady to do something.

While electricity was dangerous— Lily was sure she could deal with it as long as she was careful— plus she had quite a few meat shields around her she could use.

The tension in the room instantly spiked upon the unexpected answer— combined with her demeanor and almost predatory aura— it only made the group more uneasy.

To her mild surprise, however, the leader was undeterred by her presence or answer— in fact, she didn't outright attack out of anger; instead, she waved her hand and ordered her ground to space out.

It was a wise decision since their powers might conflict with each other— but they were inside a building, and the space was limited.

"You won't be leaving here alive."

The leader replied, her electricity jolting through her lower body and into the ground below her— a powerful wave of electricity being sent toward Lily.

With a faint smile and quick reaction, Lily responded.

"We'll see about that."

With a swift side jump— she avoided the incoming electric attack but was met with a blade swinging towards her body.

Instantly hardening, the blade was met by her hard skin— breaking upon impact and flying off. Wasting no time, she spun her body and grabbed the man that had tried to attack her, grabbing him by the neck and swinging him.

She threw the man's body towards the lady— using him as both a shield to block her vision and attacks, as well as distract her for some time so she could deal with the other pests.

Chapter 83: Chapter 83 - Dancing

Lily's strength allowed her to throw the man with ease and quite hard at that, causing him to sail through the air and collide with the leader of the group— disrupting her from concentrating and sending her tumbling backward.

The room erupted into chaos without a second thought— everyone started to attack her at once with their weapons and abilities— but Lily was prepared.

She swiftly moved around the room— like a dance- and used her agile body to avoid attacks that may injure her or outright tank attacks that won't.

She was like a phantom dancing in the room— with each attack that came towards her, she counter-attacked without a second thought.

A mutant with horns charged at her from behind— a makeshift spear in hand— however, Lily anticipated the attack before it even reached her.

Sidestepping the incoming spear with grace, she made the horned mutant stumble forward due to missing— using this chance to grab the makeshift spear and break it.

Twisting her body slightly— she stabbed the spear into the human that was trying to attack her from behind— the spear piercing the throat of the human and blood gushing out like a fountain in return.

But she didn't stop— each of her attacks was closely connected, and after each action, she made another. She wasn't playing around— she was using the combat experience she had gained from training with S.H.I.E.L.D. and her natural instincts to control the situation.

As the blood gushed out, she didn't allow it to splash onto her— instead, she ducked, causing the blood to spray onto the people that were within the vicinity of it— disorienting them and even covering some of their eyes.

Flipping backward, she pushed her body upwards using her hands— her foot being used as a weapon in an upward motion; she slammed it against the body of another mutant.

The impact caved the man's chest in— causing him to go flying backward and into another group of people.

Getting back to her feet— she was forced to jump to the side as an incoming bolt of electricity almost caught her off guard.

The leader had gotten back onto their feet, and seeing multiple of their members already defeated or outright dead, they were not happy. Electricity charging through their bodies, they stomped their feet forward.

A wave of electricity jolted towards Lily— uncaring about anyone else it hit along the way.

Prepared for the incoming attack, Lily jumped up— her hand grabbing onto the ceiling and sticking to it with ease thanks to her reptilian capabilities. This allowed her to avoid the electricity that was traveling through the ground— instead, it affected their own members.

But all wasn't safe for Lily— the group was giving her no chance to rest as the horned mutant attacked again. Without a spear, he directly attacked with his fist— and he even got a solid punch in with his strength.

Unfortunately, it was nothing to her— her skin was harder than he could punch through— and while it did sting a little, it was nothing she couldn't overlook.

But she wasn't going to overlook him.

Twisting her body as she still hung from the ceiling, she swung her foot towards the man with a powerful spin kick— her foot making contact with the man's head as a cracking sound rung out upon impact.

The man's head twisted to the side— breaking under the pressure she had exerted with her kick— killing him on the spot.

The chaos seemed to slightly calm down as yet another of their members died, the leader calling out and giving a command in order to try and regroup and formulate a better-coordinated attack.

"Retreat, space out, and surround her! Don't attack until I say too!"

The group heeded the command of their leader and began to retreat— but how could Lily, who was now fully in her element, allow them to do something like that.

Her body moved fluidly as she dropped from the ceiling, her legs pushing off the ground the second they touched down, and with a literal pounce, she jumped onto the closest human.

Pushing the person down with force— Lily bit into their body, her fangs sinking into their flesh as she used her Vampiric Capabilities to suck the blood of the person.

Feeling the blood entering her body— she could feel her stamina and energy refueling and a sense of power coursing through her body.

To all that saw her— this was a sick and messed up scene. The blood of the person gushed out as she broke away and jumped back, leaving them dead on the floor.

The mutant with glass skin couldn't take it anymore and lunged at her with surprisingly quick speed, their crystalline skin glistering under the blinking lights.

Lily, however, was faster— and with the blood coursing through her body, she felt great. Turning to the direction the mutant tried attacking from— she slammed her fist into their body.

A shattering sound could be heard as she did— and the mutant's skin seemingly shattered into glass pieces that tried to pierce into her hard skin or fell to the ground.

Thankfully, her skin was harder than the glass— but she was still cut by some of them.

The strangest thing, however, was the mutant actually survived her attack— stumbling back with skin that was cracked but healing; they had survived Lily's fist.

'A porcupine?'

The ability reminded her of how porcupines worked— using their needles as a defensive mechanism to avoid predators that would try to harm them.

It was fascinating— but not enough to stop her.

If she couldn't kill the girl with her fist without being harmed, she could use another method.

But as she was about to use that method— another bolt of electricity came hurdling at her— using her distraction with the glass mutant as the chance to catch her off guard.

The electricity bolt caught her— just barely— as she spotted it coming at the last second and was able to move out of the way.

It did hit her hand, though— and upon impact, the electricity coursed through her hand— a numbing pain erupting as Lily groaned slightly.

"Shit."

The pain was annoying— but not enough to stop her, and she didn't stop.

The leader was annoying— distracting her was the best move since allowing her to sit unbothered would only result in more surprise attacks— as such, Lily had to do something.

Lily jumped back upon getting attacked— grabbing the closest human she could, she threw them at the leader once more. It was a simple method— but it was effective.

But she didn't stop there— upon throwing the person, she grabbed their weapon— using it to stab into the nearby glass mutant, piercing their skin with ease and ending their painful life.

Lily didn't end it there; she had to deal with as much of them as she could before the leader gained their footing again— and each time the leader did, she would throw another person at them.

In less than a few minutes, the room that was filled with over 20 people had gone down to only 7 people remaining, blood and corpses covering the floor.

The leader stood there panting— their attacks had failed time and time again, and they were clearly getting tired from overusing their abilities.

The leader had already realized that there was no longer a chance to win this battle— the person before them was a beast, a monster that wasn't even a mutant.

They had tanked numerous attacks, blades, electricity, crystal, and more— they had no chance to take them down.

All while killing countless of their own members— the realization was not a good one.

"We'll deal with you another time."

The scar-faced leader said as she stood back— calling out for her group.

"Retreat!"

She yelled to her group— giving the command to pull back from this fight they had no chance of winning.

Hey guys, I hope you enjoy this new chapter; I'm not that good at doing combat-style writing, so do tell me your opinion on it, and if you have any tips to improve, feel free to share.

Also, I started writing a new fan-fic and even posted a chapter for it already. I don't plan to advertise it here yet since I want to get 10 chapters at least out first.
